Collared Ferrule installation on Titleist driver

I have a Titleist 983K that I just refurbished, but my local shop sold me a flat ferrule. I have been told that the epoxy will fill the gap where the collar is supposed to sit. My question is: will the lack of a collar in that gap cause undue stress on the shaft and cause it to break? it is a new shaft, and I have a flat ferrule so the gap will be minimal and there are no sharp edges on the hosel.

Depending on how you hit, if im reading it correctly, your ferrule will get loose over time if there is a gap. Its not a main concern, unless he didnt shaft the club in the hosel correctly. If you are paranoid, just bring it back and tell him to adjust it for you.

      Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
