I hate when I have to buy balls
I go through the sam crap each time

what ball, what price, how does it compare to the Pro-V1
I get so sick of it
I can't justify spending the $$ on Pro-V's
I know they are a great ball, and truth be told I love them

I have tried out the B-330RX's and they are a close comparison
But only reason I bought them, is because I had a gift card
I don't wanna spend all the $$ on balls, try them out and hate them

I have read a thousand reviews on comparible balls, blah blah blah

I guess I will try out the Top Flight Gamer next? A lot of people here swear that for the price, thay are a great ball
BUT...Top Flight....really!!????

I think ProV1's are worth the money. They are so much more durable than any other golf ball I will use. I will use Nike Power-Soft or SFT Balls, but I tear them up after just a few holes. I purchased 3 dozen ProV1s a few months ago and still have over 20 of them. (The others decided to go swimming or on Safari. )

I got 72 TaylorMade Tp Red's in AAAA condition for like 76$... they are durable and do everything I want. Perfect for my rounds, now if I was in a tournament, I would buy a new sleeve for them or use the box of ProV1's I got as a birthday present.

You could try to buy just one sleeve of different balls, instead of buying the whole 12 or 24 pk box. I know this limits you in what you can try, but it's one solution. The other recommendation would be to ask your friends what they are hitting and if you can try one on a hole or two while you're playing a round.

Either way, I know your frustration with find "your ball." Good luck on the search!

Find the golf ball you like and even if it's expensive, it won't be if you buy them from lostballs.com or www.knetgolf.com . Just bought 5 doz titleists for $34 shipped. They were at my door in 3 days...I didn't even have to drive to the golf store!

So you hate buying new, don't want to buy used, and won't play logo balls?

So you need to find the perfectly priced golf ball.

Pro V1s are overpriced and overrated. Theres many other balls on the market that are just as good, if not better and are less expensive.
There was a time when Titleist was hands-down the best golfball manufacturer, but nowdays they are all pretty good and are just as good as anything Titleist is making.

Different balls work for different people. What confuses me, however, is people who find the perfect ball but complain about the price all the while spending $1500 to $2000 dollars on clubs. I hope I'm not the only person who realizes than the ball is the only piece of equipment used on every single shot played. I certainly don't want to offend anyone, but unless your a high-handicapper that always loses them, or play a lot of full-swing wedges with the super-grooves that chew em up; why wouldn't you want to play what you know works best for you?

yes you are correct, it is the only item you use for every shot

but i do chew them up and occasioanally lose them, so it adds up i was able to decide on a ball.....Top Flight Gamer $19.99/dozen so far, without even playing it, I like it it has that "tacky soft" feeling the Pro V's do i will be testing them out tomorrow

No one hates top flite as much as I do. NO ONE! I dont even pick them up if I find them they have bad juju.

But I said screw it their $20, and seriously for $20 they rock. Around the greens they are like a 1X with the roll and spin (not as much spin but close) They feel nice and soft off the irons. I do not like them off the driver I dont know just seems like their harder to control. Probably just in my head.

I get my ProV's for free, so thats what I play. I've played every ball on the market, really nothing (IMO) compares, i played with some Nike One Tours and they were nice as well but my wedge ate them to crap. TM Red/blacks are just ok, I dont like them around the greens. Calloway Tour-i are my 2nd choice they grab greens really nice. but for the price Ill stick with my ProV's

I agree. I wanted to try some new balls out the other day, but didn't want to spend a ton of money. Bough a sleeve of TM Red and Bridgestone e6+. I love the way e6+ feel. I have also been very lucky since I got a new set of clubs - 3 rounds played 3 pro-v1s found.

I am right there with you... in fact if I find a deal I'll buy 5-6 dozen balls at a time (if I know I like them). Anyway... just went through the same thing... was ready to try the gamer... ended up finding Maxfli Tour Fires at Dick's for $12 a dozen and feel pretty good so far. They seem to bite just as much as the Bridgestone B330 and maybe a touch more than the NXT Tours I had in the bag on full shots. They feel soft, not crazy soft, but some tackiness and certainly not as hard as some balls. For short chips around the green I was getting a decent check, not as much as something with a Urethane cover, but still pretty darn good... and I don't chew them up super fast as I have heard happens to Gamers. Anyway... I still have a box of NXT Tours to use up... but after that I have 5 dozen boxes of these and if they work as well as they felt for the few shots I hit with them this week, then I may go and buy a few more dozen before they are gone forever.

FWIW... I am odd too... I never play found balls, never play logos, and don't trust anything refinished or recycled.

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.
    • Two bits. Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
    • So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... "Under Curry's order, Sorsby is permitted to play for Texas Tech's 2026 season on the condition that he continues his treatment for a gambling and anxiety disorder and serves a two-game suspension (missing games against Abilene Christian and Oregon State)."  Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care for the NCAA. That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. The Hidden Weapon in Sorsby’s Injunction: How a Lubbock County Court Order Quietly Neutralized the NCAA’s Most Powerful Enforcement Tool - Law Offices of Snell & Wilmer By Ryan J. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...
