New Nike Sumo(2) or Used Titleist 907D1

So I'm a new golfer with a high handicap and I need a new driver. My current is a Woods Bros driver that i think is at least 15 years old and has seen much better days.

I have a pretty good slice so I'm looking for something eaqsy to hit but I havn't heard a lot of good things about the draw weighted drivers. I also plan on correcting my slice so I would like to get a neatural driver.

Based on price, reviews, and advice from work and school friends I think I've narrowed it down to the Nike Sumo (squared or round) and the Titleist 907D1.

What are your oppinions/suggestions for me?

One more thing, would it be worth the wait to save up for a Nike Str8-Fit?

Dont waste your money on a nice high tech driver right now. There are a lot of drivers in the 150 range on TGW and Golfsmith and RockBottom. Look there and find something you like. Out of the two you put down I would get the round nike sumo. Not that is better than the D1 but I just think it looks better than the D1.

Nike Sumo2 - square head is much more forgiving...as it has higher MOI.

Titleist is generally speaking for lower handicappers...Nike IMHO would be a better option.

I personally wouldn't spend the extra on the STR-8 fit...I bought the regular Dymo2 myself...

It's also seriously worth getting lessons!

      Day (2 May 24) - somehow I missed posting both Tues and Weds practice sessions - so the streak ends and a new one begins…. Focus today was on ball first contact using the Divot Board for reference.   Worked with 7i, 9i and GW hitting hard foam balls.  Started hap hazardly and then settled back into my pre-shot setup.  Much more consistent in the latter.

      August 2010 Woodfin Ridge 18th hole Playing in a large tournament with a slew of friends and the last day was two man best ball. The 18th, when it was bent grass, was very fast due to a steep slope on the right side. I had seen many people over the years putt off the green from above the hole. I hit a great drive and 3W to 30’ left of the hole. With everyone watching my partner hit it way too fast and never high enough and his ball rolled all the way to the bottom of the green.  I hit mine much higher and the ball came to rest about 20” above the hole. Then it slowly started trickling towards the hole for a walkoff eagle! Nobody said anything except my partner who was yelling pretty loudly. I looked at the crowd and told them it was okay to clap because it was a great putt, and they gave me a bunch of polite golf claps and brought me a beer!

      Day 127: 5/2/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 6/24. Training speed was 5 mph higher than previous high, as was e-speed. Still not as high as I have done in previous programs, but just 1 mph lower. Battling through a neck issue, and possible trigger fingers. Happy with results.

      Day 49. Played 9 from tees a bit beyond my comfort zone and was humbled. Hit a couple good shots so will take that at least.
