Bunker's Dozen: August 2006

It's time for another edition of Bunker's Dozen, and I'm coming to The Sand Trap faithful for some feedback.

Obviously, Tiger will be on the list as usual. Karrie Webb, Michelle Wie, Corey Pavin, etc. will all be there as well.

Who else deserves a spot on the list this month? Keep in mind that courses have made the list in the past, as well as situations (Taylor Made getting back into the ball business).

So what belongs in this month's edition?

Cody, can you give us rather newish guys a bit of info as to what the Bunker's Dozen usually includes? From your post I can assume news worthy players/courses/etc am I correct?

It's basically a power rankings list here at The Sand Trap, mixing great play with the news worthy stuff as you mentioned. I do it the first week or so of every month, ranking the list on the previous month's accolades.

The Taylor Made ball launch, Winged Foot, and Hootie Johnson are some of the non-professional golfers that have made the list in the past.

Hoylake -- to me it was a huge surprise. From the buildup (or build-down), I didn't expect to like it all all. But by the second day of coverage, I was hooked. I even started to find the interior OB kind of quaint by Sunday (Adam Scott and John Daly probably don't share that view).

David Duval- Top 16 in the US Open, top 30 or so in the British, resurgence or fluke?

Medinah, the host of the PGA Championship. It's a classic golf course that has lots of tradition and has held memorable major events (Tiger vs Sergio in 1999 and Hale Irwin in 1990).

Medinah didn't really make the news in July.
