[QUOTE=Shorty;385748]What a ludicrous proposition.

WOW....What an intelligent statement with big words also......I'm impressed!!

Now,,,back to the thread.....yes. I did try some blades,,,Mizuno and Titleist..I'm not that great of a ball striker to appreciate the blades...I started this game with oversize clubs so for me to go to a blade is quite a adjustment.....
I just like the feel of the AP2's when I put them in my hand.....They also feel sweet when you hit em in the sweet spot, but it's been my experience that all the clubs I tried felt great when I hit the sweet spot.

Good luck with your purchase,
Joe

Like I said in one of my earlier posts to this thread, I know that wedges are easier to hit. I am curious about irons that may have the same feel and weight. I'm not asking for 8 wedges. I want something that feels like they are.

What a ludicrous proposition.

HAHAHA - I picked up a 52* Vokey this summer - and other than the milled face and "Zip grooves" is has nothing on my older gap wedges or my new Wilson Prostaff G wedge that I got for ~ $30.

I have 6 gap wedges for different sets or irons (the Vokey, two forged 50* Ram Tom Watsons, an old stainless Spalding Robert T Jones with unknown loft, a forged 52* Mizuno Pro, and a stainless Wilson Prostaff "G" with unknown loft). Feelwise the Rams and Mizuno are head and shoulders the best of the bunch, but for some reason the old Spalding puts me closest to the pin without fail. Having said that, I have a couple sets of stainless Spalding Robert T Jones irons and they feel very much less than awesome.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread
I figured it out.

I was swinging my old Sam Snead Blueridge Blades
They feel the exact same as a vokey.

Only problem is finding a full set.
They're from the 1960-1970's

They're really nice clubs though

Geez, no one can answer a question.

http://blog.myostrichgolf.com/blog/_...5/2419179.html

One thing that i've learned from this site a long time ago is that swingweight can be changed very easily. If you want a vokey like swing weight, here are two things to try.

-im not sure if your callaways are graphite but if they are, try switching to steels. They're usually in the 120 gram range and that will help increase weight.
-A lighter grip helps, and is a cheaper solution. Winn is coming out with a new grip called the winnlite, but it's not for sale yet.

hope this helps more than the others.
