man, when i was learning how to play golf we werent able to have anything "fitted". now irons are fitted , wedges are fitted , shafts are fitted , putters are fitted , drivers are fitted , and even balls are fitted . i wonder what the next "fitting" will be? gloves? hehe

i think a player should have at least 2 or 3 diff preferences in balls...
ive played many many diff balls cuz when im bored working at the course ill go ball hawking if its really slow and have found an hit anything from acquity to bubba balls to z-stars...
i prefer the higher end balls and i cant really tell too much diff in most tour balls...
its when you get down to the bargain balls things get tricky... some are just plain rocks and others are pretty nice...

i also consider conditions... i played earlier in the week when the temp was sunny and 70with the same ball as i played the other day when it was mid 50's... that nike one platinum that was going 240 didnt go as far on the cold day and out came the bridgestone rx's and whatever else was softer...

ive been to GG's fitting and it was worth the 8-10 bucks to see which balls work for whatever your swing tendencies were for the day
RUSS's avg drive - 230yrds and climbing
