Hi to all,

Currently i play the DT solo, i like the way it flies, it has a good feel off the clubhead (better than some premium balls), and it lasts a lot.
The only thing i miss is a bit more 'drop and stop', but of course you can´t get everything with such an affordable ball.

I was thinking about another ball, first it was the Callaway Tour ix, but i heard some comments about the "click" sound off the clubhead, like if you were hitting a power distance ball. Never saw it on this ball, but i could tell it on the HX Tour.

Now i was thinking about the NXT Tour, many good things have been told about this ball, the only thing that concerns me is scuffs. It seems this ball may scuff very easily.

I am looking for a ball with good feel, distance and good around greens, without having to go to Pro V1. And it must last 18 holes.

Do you think the NXT Tour could fulfill my needs? Should i continue with the solo one?

Thanks a lot

If you like the DT So Lo, why dont you give the DT Carry or DT Roll a shot. The NXTs are nice, but they are a little pricey and IMO they dont spin much more than a distance ball to be worth spending the extra $$$.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

Well, ít seems to me that a real upgrade would be the nxt more than either the roll or carry.
The idea is getting the balls used, but in mint condition (although shipping charge to spain willy be high).

i agree the nxt's scuff really easily... but they arent a bad ball...
if you want the durability of the so lo... you can try either the roll or the carry... i couldnt tell much difference when i tested those 2 balls out...
i actually liked playing the so lo

I used to play the SoLo as well, but it seems like they stopped making it. I just don't care for the Roll or the Carry as much.

The Srixon AD333 is worth a look. I think it is very comparable to the SoLo and it's an affordable ball, too.

I compared the AD333 to the ProV1 this summer during scrambles and they were very comparable in length.

The Srixon is softer, but the ProV1 has more green side spin.

I agree, the SoLo and AD333 feel pretty similar to me. I've played the Srixon SoftFeel and it may give more greenside spin as well.

If you're going for value....Try the Wilson 50-50 or the Top Flite D2's

Those are comparable in price and still provide length & as much stop 7 drop as the SoLo's...........The NXT's are hard and more expensive.

Hi, you could also try one of the srixons, say the soft feel or better still the trispeed if you can get it at a favourable price.

the nxt tour will most likely last 18 holes unless you have a full wedge shot on almost each hole. i hit a few half swings a few minutes ago with a pro v1x using my new vokeys and the ball is already scuffed. i would not expect the same thing from the nxt so i think it fits what you're looking for. the only reason i switche to the pro v1x was a big more distance and more spin around the greens.

i think you should try the pts carry. i used it for a few holes the other day since i was hitting my driver everywhere (didn't want to waste my pro v1xs). The ball fight was really high and I also got quite a bit of spin on greenside shots. the nxt is not very durable, it almost scuffs as easily as the pro v1x. it is also pretty expensive and i don't think it will last more than 9 holes.

What are those?

I've heard of and used balata. They're friendly - play with one long enough and it'll have a big smile for you.

    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
