Step-Daughter's Swing

From a trip the wife, step-kid, and I took to a nearby (crappy) range earlier this summer.

I just recently got a couple of my girlfriend's nieces and nephews swinging clubs with this plastic wedge/iron looking thing. Pretty fun watching these little guys enjoy the challenge.

I was jokingly going to try to run an analysis on this, show some over the top move or something but amazingly this is a really good swing.

She doesn't come over the top but comes from the inside and it looks like she is lagging the club. Hilarious.



jeezy chrizzy, how much does she practice. Seriously the second and third frames are some of the best positions I have seen after looking at 100's of swings. This is ridiculous. I'm laughing at this point thinking about how hard it was for me to get into these positions. 'the flatter downswing and coming from the inside.' Is she hitting a draw?

I'm no swing expert, but that's one cute little girl.

I should clarify - the alignment stick was for my wife. I'm probably too laid back about El Kiddo playing golf because I've always taken the "leave her wanting more" approach. Keep it fun.

I only tell her the simplest of things like "stand closer to the ball" or "big swing this time." This day I remember telling her that it would look cute if she had a nice follow through (and demonstrated), so that's what she was trying to do.

Hit balls at a range? Once a month, if that. Maybe once every six weeks, tops, if you average in the whole year (winter, in a golf dome). And it's just 15 balls or so until she sees dandelions that need picking or something.

Is she hitting a draw?

I'm still pretty sure she doesn't hit the ball hard enough to get much spin, but from the looks of it, she would if she hit it harder.
