Since I took up golf again about 3 months ago, I have somehow acculated 6 putters

1. Cleveland VAS.
2. Ping G2 B60
3 Ping Anser
4. Original Ping (One they named their Co. after)
5. The EGG
6. Northwestern 835 Z10

I just got the EGG in the mail today off ebay and I paid nearly nothing for it but it strikes the ball pretty solid. I'm gonna give it a try!

Current list:

1) Titleist Milled Bulls-Eye 3.25 L
2) Taylor Made Rossa Fontana Tour 4-02
3) Ping G5i Mini-C (for when I'm feeling center-shafty)
4) Scotty Cameron Studio Design 1
5) Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport 2

The SC's are at the Studio right now though. The Ping's the gamer.

Those Camerons are expensive clubs! I can't find it in me to pay that kind of money for a putter. They are really neat putters however and well balanced!

I currently have nineteen although I have been using the same one continuously for the last 15 years. All of the others predate this one, I probably should put them on ebay as they are just sitting in a cupboard.

I'm down to 2, or 3 if you count my Momentus practice putter (but it's just for practicing the stroke).

Yes! Tracy II (33.5")
Bobby Grace Payday (34")

I feel entirely inadequate after reading Slimeberry and Chingali's posts.

I started collecting Scotty Camerons after I fell in love with the Newport blade a few years ago. I had tried several Pings growing up, and more recently the Nike Oz, Odyssey White Hot, Ping Craz-E, and the Scotty Cameron Futura. I never really felt comfortable with any of them, but had it in my head that I needed a mallet. I thought I would never spend $300.00 on a Cameron Newport, but after just a few minutes I felt better over that putter than I had any other. I sold off all of my mallets but the Odyssey and kept the Newport and the Two Ball in my bag for several months, but it was all for not. I never used the Two Ball, and when I did I didn't like what I saw. So, it too is now gone. After that I bought another Cameron blade, and another, until it became a collection. I don't collect anything. Never been into stamps or comic books. Haven't bought a baseball card for myself in 20 years (my son loves them). But, I love to collect these things. I love golf, obviously. They are all unique in their own way, and I just really enjoy it. It seems expensive, but in the grand scheme it really isn't that bad. Some people collect antique cars, some wine. All much more expensive than a putter collection. Although I did see on Scotty's web site that a collector had recently paid $35,000.00 for a mint condition Scotty Cameron Mini Classic. I'm not ready to drop that kind of cabbage just yet. Some of his pre-Titleist putters do go for around $1000.00 to $5000.00, but I am not there yet either. My putters, with the exception of two, are all worth arount $300 to $400. The Napa and AC VII are worth quite a bit more. I have one more that I want to find and then I will more than likely hold off until I can afford to "take it to the next level". Until then, I really enjoy going down in my office, oiling the heads of my putters (hold the laughs please), and just practicing my stroke with the different ones (again, I can hear the snickers from here). Like I said earlier, only a handfull will ever go out on the track w/ me, but that is only because some of the finishes are so delicate. Scotty is the greatest, hands down.

Yeah, I definitely want more Camerons. I'd like to graduate to the Tour models or the Prototypes, which can sometimes be found on eBay. But you're right -- I'm not ready to drop the necessary scratch for a rare model.

There are several 1st/500 models out there that are slightly less extravagant price-wise, but there's a school of though among Scotty afficianados that those aren't all that special.

    • A bit of background. The Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) runs an annual event known as "Team Play." It is a wildly popular match play competition where Men's Clubs across the region put together teams of 20+ golfers together to compete against other clubs in a 16 vs. 16 match. In any given year, approximately 80-100 clubs will participate. Each club is grouped into "pods" of 4, and will play 6 total matches - one home and one away match against the other 3 clubs. The winning club from each pod advances to the Team Play Playoffs - a single elimination format - until a winner is crowned.  Antelope Valley Country Club just advanced to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. They won the championship in both 2022 and 2023.  Based on my review of the match history from the past 3 years (linked below), they have won 21 consecutive team matches. Keep in mind, these are handicapped matches, so this is not just a case where a group of sticks bands together to dominate the poor amateurs other SoCal clubs. Even if these guys are grinders who never quit, play their best under pressure and routinely putt the lights out, the law of averages still say that a streak of that nature is mathematically impossible.  Is there any plausible explanation beyond institutionalized sandbagging throughout the club? • Interesting that Scottie is #10 on the all time money list and he's been on the PGAT for 4 years. Of course, purses are bigger now, but  neat to look at non-the-less.  The list of top 18 money winners in PGA Tour history has plenty of surprises This list is updated through the 2024 RBC Heritage. To add, Scottie won 4.5 million at the Players, Jack played 44 seasons and won a little of 5 million on course.
