If I was you Id just buy the upro instead of the go, as it offers sooo much more.

Wish I had the money for it but my budget is $200 max.

Right now Amazon.com has the Upro Go for $147 after $50 mail in rebate. That is about $100 less than the best price I've seen yet. And free shipping. Seems like a steal. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition;=new

Can you let us know of the differences between models? Watching the golfsmith videos of both their features seem to be about the same.

Almost pulled the trigger on the Upro Go but when I looked at Callaway's course selection about 5 of my main courses I play were not on there. And by the looks of it, a few of them had quite a few requests, which tells me they do not update their courses often.

Golfgalaxy.com has the Golf Buddy Pro on their Memorial Day sale for $214. If they will match that price in their store tomorrow I plan to buy that. I looked at their course listings and every course I have ever played was listed on their site.

ok the u pro go lay out of the green and bunkers were all wrong. The course came up fast, all i can say is there is a reason why it's cheap. I would be 60yrds from the green and it would read 200yrds on the first 3 holes. So i couldn't stand it anymore so i just turned it off. I got the 3.5 skycaddie and it has been the best for me. For the price.

This thread seems to have the most active conversation on the topic, so I wanted to ask something a bit related: What is everyone's opinion on the golf GPS apps for the Blackberry? I'm currently running Virgin Mobile, and may pick up the new Blackberry Curve they've released since a couple weeks ago. Would be easier to get a phone I'm already going to use, and use a golf GPS app on there rather than buying myself a standalone unit as well.

What's in my Tartan Precise TS-869 Bag:

I have the SG5 and it is very nice, easy to use and accurate. It is kind of big, but it hangs on my bag, so size doesn't matter. Unfortunately, my expoerience with Sky Golf customer service or rather the lack of, (the makers of Sky Caddie) was less than satisfactory. I had to send my unit back after two seasons becasue of a bad screen. I took several calls to get through to customer service (after 30 minute plus hold times) and after spending $70.00 for repairs, I am waiting to get it back. Apparently this is the wrong time of the year to require service since they are extremely busy. Also, and I not sure if this has any thing to do with it, but their new GPS, the SGX, is causing them some headaches. But, other than my unit breaking, the poor customer service, the $70.00 repair bill, and the $50.00 per year subscription fee, the unit is nice and despite all of this, I do like the unit. When my subscription ends, I will probably look at the uPro.

anyone have any info on the Izzo Swami ? From what i read on here I think it may be the same as the Bushnell Neo. which is strange because most of the courses that I play are listed on the Izzo site but not on the Bushnell list of courses.

So how does the UPRO work with the "NO SUBSCRIPTION FEE"? I assume that a tonne of golf courses are already inluded on the unit itself. Can you still download other golf couses that aren't included in the unit. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm from Canada and I wouldn't expect any Canadian courses to be defaulted on there.

I am currently using GolfLogix on my iphone, and it looks like it is pretty similar on the BB. For the iphone it is a free app, $30 per year for the service. It's been great so far. The only negative I have come across is that it switches to the green view mode inside of 200Y--you can't change that distance. Some of the dedicated models let you adjust this distance. For the iphone they have Airvue and Golfshot which have also gotten good reviews.

Yeah, it looks like GolfLogix is $40/year for smartphones incl. the BB. That was one of my potential choices, though I'd prefer to just pay some amount up front and not worry about a yearly subscription (even if that seems to be standard for most programs). I may end up waiting until next golf season, as I'm not in dire need for it given the courses that I play, and I'm also hoping I can snag the BB Curve on a Black Friday deal in November, as it's not likely to be reduced before then.

Watch with Callaway's list of courses. I almost pulled the trigger on a Upro Go unit off Amazon (they had a killer price on it) however once I looked in their database I would say half the courses I normally play were not in their list of courses. Granted you could request them to map it, however I noticed a few of them already had 25+ requests. So it appeared it takes them a while to map. Maybe even requiring a certain number of requests to be met before they will do it. not sure.

Check out www.callaway.com for their list of courses. Also the unit shows drawings of courses on the screen. In order to get real pictures of the courses you have to pay a one time fee of $50.

Thanks erock. Does anyone have any experience with the Sonnocaddie AutoPlay? I've been reading about that model in the last few days but don't know anything about golf GPS systems. Thanks.
