hey man, i'm 16, what about it!? not every teenager is the same, some actually have respect for this great game...and can play...

You are right, most serious junior golfers do things right. Much better than the older "businessmen" that play the game. Most juniors that play in good programs have forgotten more about the rules of golf that older ...cough...cough "businessmen" know about the rules of golf.

I do have to agree that the few bad apples of junior golf try to imitate Tiger's outbursts...but most of them are middle of the field wanna bees though. Older players of the game might be pleased to know that the better players act like Tom Watson and Ben Crenshaw rather than the younger breed Tiger followers. Having said that my 12 year old son is pretty good having won several tornaments at the local Tampa area, and his favorite golfer is Tiger (He laughs at his outbursts)...but his on course demeanor is more like Ben Crenshaw... So I guess I am trying to say it's a fine line...

OMG What a nightmare, watching teenagers play golf! Aren't HS teams enough, they already swarm the courses like a plague. WOW; sorry for such a strong reaction but do you know any teenagers? As a HS teacher I have known thousands and cannot think of ten I would allow on a course. WOOF, I need a chill pill.

You deserve every ounce of shit you take for this comment and more. Seriously dude, you suck. I'm no longer a teenager but it wasn't that long ago. I can tell you that when me and my teenage friends played golf we were easily in the best 5% of golfers on the course at any given time. Furthermore we probably knew a hell of a lot more about the game and kept better pace.

I can't believe you teach kids. You should be ashamed. Frankly your excuses about the delinquents you teach seem utterly irrelevant.

As a public course player there is a conflict between wanting golf to get new blood and wanting the place to maintain an old "men's club" feel.

Well unfortunately thats your problem. If you want a "men's club" feel you need to join a private country club. Simple as that. If you cant afford it tough. I know your type. Your the old man that plays the same local muni all the time and tries to pretend like your a private member there. Your the old man who yells at the kids for practicing with more than 3 balls on the putting green, and go's around the entire course policing it like its your own. Quit kidding yourself and join a private club, otherwise come back to reality and realize that when you play a public course you are not going to have all the amenities a private club offers.

On a side note: Why in the heck should high school kids have to go to private clubs to practice and take up the members time? They pay excessive amounts of monthly dues + initiation fees to be members there, they deserve to have the course open only to them. You really think that because you pay your 10 bucks to play your local muni that they owe you something. Give me a break.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
