Need some Playstation3 game advice from the experts.

My son is getting a PS3.

What are the "must have" games for this console?

I've picked up NBA 10 Live, Madden 2010, Ratchet&Clank;, The Bigs baseball and Uncharted 2.
909D Comp 9.5* (house MATRIX OZIK XCON-6)
Burner Superfast 3 & 5 woods (house MATRIX OZIK XCON-4.8)
G15 Hybrid 23* (AWT shaft)
G5 5 iron-PW-46*, UW-50*, SW-54 & LW-58 (AWT shaft)
Studio Select Newport 2 Mid SlantGrips: PING cords & Golf Pride New Decade Multi-Coumpound Bag: C-130...

I don't think there is such a thing as a must have game as it depends on what you like.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for me, I bought a PS3 for that game alone. Epically amazing graphics and the king of car racing games...The full version comes out in the Summer.

In the Matrix XTT Standbag:

Driver: Biggest Big Bertha 11*
Fairway Wood: Steelhead Plus 3 Wood
Irons: T-Zoid Titanium Insert irons 3-SWWedge: Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.04Putter: Pro Platinum Laguna 34" w/ British Open '04 headcoverBall: ProV1 Rule35 Playing again after a three year hiatus...

Definitely Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Friggin' amazing game.

Absolutely... as long as he is old enough (12-14 in my opinion... and knows video violence v. real life)... then this is one of the best games around, especially if you will have the PS3 online.

Uncharted 2 as you mentioned is supposed to be real good, but I have an Xbox 360, so I don't know. TW 10' if he likes golf Assasin's Creed 2 is supposed to be good... lot better than the first, which was cool at first but got repetitive. (same as MW2 - age is an issue)
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

You picked up some good games. Like others have said, if he likes golf go with Tiger Woods 2010 or if he is old enough, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I may be picking up a copy of the Modern Warfare 2. I plan on "previewing" it for a while before trying it with him.

Modern warfare 2 is amazing online. Uncharted is a weird game, I liked it, but alot of my buddys hated it, as ts kinds odd.. Also check out borderlands, it's flat out huge, and lots of fun. A must have I feel is fall out 3. The game play is limitless assuming you don't finish the story line. Tho the last two may not be appropriate.

My sn on the psn is bakkalicious if anyone plays mw2

Agreed on Gran turismo 5,they are just class games.Any off the call off duty games,
Modern warfare 1 or 2 and world at war.Probably better off getting the other 2 first before modern warfare 2 though.

Been playing UC2 when time permits.

About halfway through it now.

Going out in a few minutes to get a copy of MW2 as suggested.

Can't wait to jump on this game first thing in the morning.

If you enjoy Uncharted 2, then the first (Drake's Fortune) is also worth a look.

If your son's old enough, then Grand Thef Auto IV can provide several hours of enjoyment.

UC2 and the Modern Warfare games have been interesting...but my son isn't old enough for them.

We've been wearing out the NBA Live 10, though. I can't come close to his scoring and effective defense....I do well just to stay within 20 pts.

We have also been enjoying Street Fighter IV. It really brings back some old memories of playing the original arcade version when I was much younger.

Definitely MLB The Show.

Best baseball game made, and it's not even close.

Hockey fan? NHL 10 is a great game.

I'll have to look this into this one. I've got to update our wi-fi connectivity at the house so we can take advantage of the online fun with the PS3. I understand you can demo a lot of games online. It will be great to keep the sports games stats updated.

We've been wearing out SFIV and The Bigs. GT5 sounds like a blast, too.
