I wore Bite shoes and they are comfortable as well as New Balance. I also buy Superfeet insole and they make a huge difference in all my shoes including golf shoes, you can tell difference walking and carrying your bag with a full set for 18 holes.

I second the Superfeet insoles. Nothing better out there.

I walk a lot of hilly courses... and I have tried Nike, Callaway, Adidas and FJ... and for me FJ wins hands down, Nike being my 2nd choice.

I'd go with the Contour series or with Dryjoys, maybe the superlites, but I haven't tried those.

I don't know what is out right now, but I have had a few pairs of the athletic/running style golf shoes from Nike and you can't go wrong with them IMO. Very comfortable for walking. I have other golf shoes but I always keep these around for when I want to be really comfortable. You just have to stay away from the cheaper models. Right now is a good time to find a deal on last year's models.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

If you can still find them, the NIKE Mens Air Tour TW 8.5 Golf Shoes are great and fit like a glove. I walk a very hilly 18 at least twice per week and never have a problem. I had to do some searching to find them again but since they have been discontinued you can get them pretty cheap online.

I use FootJoy Contour. I didn't like them the first couple times out - but after a short break-in period they replaced my older Footjoys as my favorite shoe. I wore them for many, many, many rounds this year. They are the most comfortable shoes I've found.

So far the only shoe that has got my approval is Footjoy MyJoy's. Great shoe, totally customizable. Lightweight and comfortable. Provides lots of support. Perfect shoe.

I hear excellent things about ecco shoes, but they are mucho expensive. I have a couple pairs of addias tour 360 LTD. They're not really cheap either, but im very happy with them as far as comfort and durabillity goes.

I have each style, a Contour and MyJoy. Been wearing those two styles for quite a while and very happy with both.

I have worn many different brands. I was never a big Footjoy fan until I found the Contour series. For the money, there's not a better shoe or shoe value out there. Many different widths from extra narrow to wide make it easy to find one that fits like a glove. Great fit, great support...I own two pair. I cannot justify paying $180-250 for a pair of shoes. They are just not any better than the Footjoy Contour at $100 or less.

I second the Ecco recommendation. I found a new pair for <$100 and boy those shoes are a bit better than my FootJoy Contours. I just don't normally play really dressy courses yet, and these shoes look great. Be a shame to scuff them up on municipal courses.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Ecco shoes are the best ive ever worn.

They cost double regular shoes, but last double, and perform double.

The key to a comfortable shoe is minimizing the amount of pieces that go in it.

Eccos are usually two piece shoes. Something like a Nike, which is respectable, has 4-5 pieces to it not counting the sole. To each his own, but when I get shoes I usually go for gold because they are something I have to stand/walk in for hours and hours. By the time you re done with a pair of shoes you could have spent as much as months wearing them.

That much time can have a meaningful impact on your feet/spine down the road... so why not take care of yourself. It is kind of like an office /computer chair. How much of your life do you spend sitting on it? Consider how ergonomic it is and how much you spend on it vs the time you will be actually sitting on it. Odds are you aren't sitting in the right chair.

Just my 2 cents.
