Yes, things look different. I've installed vBulletin 4.0 and the old skins are not compatible, so they're disabled.

Over the next several hours I'm going to update any preferences and settings to make sense. Then perhaps I'll tweak the style a little bit (though I kind of like this style for now).

Post any questions here, and I'll post any changes I make to the settings (etc.) here as well.

P.S. Two plugins are also disabled: the "ignore threads" and the "reputation checks" plugins. Reputation comments are currently disabled so that people can't give others reputation of -38 or +31 or anything silly like that.

P.P.S. For now, everyone should go to http://thesandtrap.com/forum/profile.php and make sure they like their settings.

First thing I don't like is the on-top postbit (the username, avatar, etc.). There, fixed that.

Any way the banner and icons of the old skin can be transferred?

It supports video from Hulu, YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Google, and facebook. Cool.

Please discontinue using the old "youtube" codes. They'll still remain active so that old images work.

Sorry. Until vBulletin 4 skins become more widely available, this is what we have. I may change some of the colors out later.

There was 100% no way to keep the old skin unless we also kept vBulletin 3. vBulletin 4 is a compelling upgrade and it's well worth having a slightly less cool skin for awhile.

Cool, I like like forum upgrades.

I really hope the old skin can return, or at least one similar. The new one give far less overview and ease of reading. Especially in the thread view, but also in the threads themselves. I like forums where each part of the site is divided so the eyes easily can focus on the posts, without the entire content being mixed together.

I liked the old style too. But this also gives us a chance to find a new style.

The old style was a fairly heavily modified version of Aria, and the folks who developed that style seem to have disappeared months ago, so... we may not be able to do that same style, though obviously that'd be the first choice. (Aria is from http://vbstyles.com/ .)

this new deal will take some getting used to but newer is better most of the time

      Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

      Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.

      Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
