I am just looking for a little steering in the right direction if possible.
Cliffs:

...This past Summer I swapped out my starter iron set which has Regular flex shafts, and upgraded to MP-57's with S300 Stiff shafts. Since then I have been hitting my irons very pure.

As far as the driver goes, I am currently using a 10.5 Taylormade R7 CGB Max. The shaft is a 45g Stiff...

...I am not hitting the driver as well as I would like to.

Question #1: Speaking in generalities, would a guy like me ( someone who has a quicker swing ) benefit from an X-Stiff & heavier shaft?

Question #2: If I wanted to really get fitted for a new driver/shaft combo where should I go. ( I live in CT ).

I am asking this because I feel as though the change from a Regular shaft flex to a Stiff flex on my irons improved my iron game by leaps and bounds; and at this point the largest flaw in my game is my driver.

Any help/advice is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Justin

Yep that could be it. In CT, just go to your local pro shop and ask what the nearest fitter is. You Will be surprised at the results the come from it.

Hey take a look at this thread ....I have asked a similar question, regarding shafts. I also have a r7cbg Max (reg) and planing on changing to a stiffer reg shaft. I really like the head, and the ability to adjust it, but the shaft is not really suited for my style., and tis cheaper to get a good shaft than replace the hole thing....

jlund,
There was a thread here a few months back that recommended this place in CT.
I know I'd benefit from a shaft change, so I might head up there if the things I'm doing in the offseason don't help me control my dispersion.

45g is very light for a shaft. You may benefit from something around 60-70g in stiff flex. It's very hard to recommend anything without seeing your swing or knowing your distances.

I understand it is hard to recommend with minimal information. I just had a sneaking suspicion that the 45g shaft may be giving me trouble. When I purchased this driver I knew 100% less about equipment than I know today. I am going to go down and get fitted for a new driver/shaft setup very soon.

45g is pretty light, most go around 65g on average.

Go with the Proforce V2. I have it in 2 variations. I have the 76g Stiff in my driver and 65g x flex high launch in my hybrid. I got fitted for the driver and went off my stats from my fitting to go with the high launch 65g in the hybrid. I love the V2.
Any golf galaxies in CT? The usually have a driver with all of the different shaft options so you can compare.

Getting fitted by a clubfitter/maker is the best way to go. I question the ability/knowledge of retail stores who have limited technical knowledge and are there to make a sale.
