Is it possible to take a flat lie club and bend to a 2+ degree upright with minimal issues?
I got a great deal on burners but they're a 1.0" long and flat...just wondering what i'ma have to do to get these to my specs ....

Just take them to an experienced club maker and you should be fine (private club, local golf shop, etc.)

yes, you bend them.

be careful when bending those clubs. the taylormades tend to be a very hard metal to bend and often snap. i've seen it a few times in person, and it's not pleasant seeing such a nice club snapped at the hosel.

I've seen a lot of them bent (and broke), and once you get past 3* of bend then they start getting iffy, especially with the harder metal cast clubs.

What are they now - how flat? You might be talking about a 4* bend (plus twisting). Good luck.

I ordered my 09 Burners 7-A 2* up. I bought a 6 later and took it to the local "guy" and asked him to bend it. He tried, he got virtually nothing accomplished and said the TM Burners were very hard to bend and he was not surprised that he could not bend mine. He mentioned something about the black chrome treatment but I don't think Burner plus clubs have that treatment.
Tweaky, how did the metal look after heating it?

Micro torches don't cause any discoloration and I only heat for about 15 -20 at a time keeping the flame as low as possible on the hosel.

2 degrees is the max I'd try with cast stcks.

That is a bit unusual finding a lengthened club flat at least in my limited experience.

update: The irons sent to me were ironically tagged wrong. I went to my club guy to get them bent only to find they're of all things, not 1* upright but actually 3*...so no bending needed and i'm happier than ever lol...Thanks guys for all the input anyway :)
