Hello all, I am getting married in December and thinking seriously about splurging and heading to Hawaii for the honeymoon. I was just wondering if any of you have hit any links in HI? I found a really nice resort/golf package, can't remember the name right off but I can't seem to find a price. Any input on where to stay, play, etc.. will be appreciated! Thanks!!

Depends on what Island you will be on. Back in 05, I golfed Kapalua, on Maui. Not the Plantation though. Not only was it under renovation, but I doubt I would have been allowed to play with my handicap. Paradise!!!!! Golf isn't cheap there, but well worth it. I played twilight, $88. I think prime time was $150. But my wife(at the time) was allowed to ride along for $25. They do that because of the spectacular views and therefore the non-golfers can take pictures and videos, while the golfers play, without holding up play. Go to Golf Hawaii website. Other courses on Maui are Kaanapali, and Macena. And two course on the Island of Lanai, where you go there by boat from the town of Lahaina. There's Turtle Bay and others on Ohau, and the famous Princeville, Poipu Bay and Lagoons, among others, on island of Kauai. Most all of the Hawaii course have websites. Also, there are other sites listing Hawaii courses, their descriptions and home page links. You just made me a very jealous person.

I want to go to Maui, We did some research and a couple of those places came up. After spending that much money on the wedding along with the flight, hotel, expenses, etc.. I'll only be able to play one round probably. But I'm sure it'll be worth every penny. I'd like to keep the round in the range of $100-125 but if I have to go just a little more I will. Are there any that don't ask for a HC card? I haven't officially got a USGA card since I just got back into the game after college. The website you mentioned, is it

www.golfhawaii.com? Thanks!

Let's put it this way, it's your honeymoon. One round of golf sufficient. There are so many other things to do on Maui: Luaus, the "Road to Hanna" tour, the sunrise on Haliakela Volcano, then the drive back down, with breakfast. Not to mention all the great restaurants. I don't know if they ask for a handicap. I just assumed because the Plantation is where they play the season opener each year. Yes, Golf Hawaii is the site.

I played the Wailea Gold course while in Maui, excellent golf course & staff. Rounds run for about $140, but you can really get value by playing again for the replay rate of $55.

The #1 ranked golf course in Hawaii is the Prince course in Kauai. Kauai to me is the best island for golf. It also has Poipu Bay where they used to play the grand slam. All of the course regardless of how nice they are, are around $150. And I believe the previous member was joking about not playing because of his handicap....no public course can turn you away because you are not good.
