Tiger Wedge Setup

So Tiger carries a PW (47*), a 56*, and a 60* wedges. This seems different from what most people do because of the 9* gap between the PW and the 56*. I know that this is Tiger Woods and he has amazing distance control, but I wonder if anyone normal has used this setup effectively.

I used this until this upcoming year. I decided to get a 54* to replace the 56* because the 54 goes about 100 yards with a nice, easy swing. I had to power the 56 to get it 100 yards, and even then it would rip back, sometimes spinning off the front.

Don't know whether I'm "normal", but I currently use a Mizuno MP57 PW @ 47*, and Titleist Vokeys 56* and 60*. Seems to work OK. The distance gap between the PW (115 yds) and 56* (90 yards) is about 25 yards. I can hit a 3/4 PW about 105, so the gap is pretty well filled.

One thing to remember about most tour players is that they rarely hit a full wedge shot. Depending on pin placement, wind, green elevation and slope, they will adjust their swing length, ball position and club to suit.

Mmm... I think in the Nike Forged Blades, his PW is 50°, and that's when I'd always see the 50-56-60 from him.

The (relatively) new Nike VR Blades have a 47° PW, but I don't think that's been in the bag since the Memorial.
