Well I'm really looking forward to this Friday. Why? Because me and a friend are playing with a guy named Alex. Alex isn't your typical golfer, he's AMAZING. On average he hits 300 yard drives, which is pretty awesome speaking that he's about 5'6. He must use his size very efficiently. Also, he can hit his 'Chipper' 180 yards! With a chipper! I mean personally I don't own a chipper, nor do I know anyone who does.

Not to mention, it's not everyday you get a text that says "Holy shit bro I just hit 57 on nine, you have some serious competition." Well what happened? You play well, I thought. "Oh nahh, I was on the green in two on every hole, it's just my putting was like 4 putt each time."

Anyways, I digress... People like this frustrate me endlessly with the lies about their game. But have you every played with anyone who lies constantly about their game, or acts incredibly cocky about it? I think we'll probably have some interesting stories on this topic.

Good saying:

"If you have to tell someone how good you are, you're probably not."

People will always lie about golf because it's a game that measures your ability by your scores, driving distances, etc. Anytime you have a sport such as golf, basketball, or any sport for that matter, people will lie to make themselves sound better so they can "fit in."

Why does it bother you? Just ignore him, or better yet, wax him on the course.

My feelings exactly. I played with a guy 2 seasons ago that claimed he was a +1. At the time, I was a legit 6 handi. Reluctantly, I played from the tips with him at a course that rated right at 72 and 135 slope a shade over 7000 yards. At the end of the day, I came in at 81 for the day while he sank a 30 foot birdie putt on 18 for an 89. Needless to say, he was very quiet after about 7 holes and we've never played again.

You should tell him to put the money where his mouth is and clean him out.

Dude, he's 5'6" - sounds like he is suffering from short man's disease......let me guess, he can also bench 400 pounds, he can dunk a basketball when nobody is around, he'll pick a fight with 3 guys twice his size, and he hits on females way out of his league.....

Meh...

What's a chipper?

Hey, I'm 5'6", and can easily admit that I suck at golf, so watch the short people assumptions. I can bench 400 ounces, I can dunk at the Elementary School Court. Was never one for fighting, and I know I'm ugly, but women like money more than looks, so I do OK.

Excellent comeback, respect for a funnae, easygoing response.....LMAO.....I like your style, and please ship a large bag of money to 75093......not all short peeps have it by any means, but when they do, watch out

My first thought also, but make sure a pretty girl is along to watch for accidental

rules violations. This kind of guy usually really melts down in front of the fairer sex. He will probably want to double up, it could end up being a very profitable day.
