So yesterday i went out with my cusion and his brother(who has never played before). So i wasnt planning on trying to play my best round ever I was more there to try and help him. I know im not the best player by anymeans and dont try to act like I am but Yesterday with just not focusing on my game so much and beating myself up over bad shots cause i wasnt worried I found that with the leeser pressure that I actually can Putt pretty stinking well. my average putts per round is currently 33.4 but yesterday I went out and only had 27 putts. Could it be a fluke? maybe? but it sure felt wonderful to stoke it that well. I sunk 5-6 15 -25 footers. and 1 40+ footer.

I always play best (all aspects of my game) when I don't *care*. Well, you always care how you play ... I just find that when I'm not focused on caring about my round, the good results seem to follow. I'd say to learn from that experience and try to stay as detached from your score as possible the next time out. Using the proverbial advice "Take one shot at a time" and "Play each shot like it was your last" helps keep this mindset.

I didnt even get down and read any greens. I just stepped up to it looked at the hole, picked a spot quickly to aim for and hit it and it just keep falling.

Funny that's the technique I used a few years ago when I was holing a bunch of long ones.

I've been more methodical since, but haven't had much luck with the long ones since I switched mostly from looking at the hole (risky for bad contact), to looking at the hole and then the ball. Food for thought.
