I'm really surprised Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw don't have more than they do.

Vijay not having a U.S. Open surprises me. I figured that, with his strength, the heavy rough would bother him less than it bothers others.

Plenty of people have said Tom Watson and Arnold Palmer, and I agree.

But you know what group of people just hasn't won majors in the past 40 years? Left handed people. I don't know what fraction of the top players are left handed, but it seems to me that they'd have more than just Bob Charles on the list of left-handed players who have won majors. Or has a left-hander won playing right-handed, the way two right-handers have won playing left-handed?

Um, Mickelson won 3 majors left handed, Wier won 1. Left handed golf clubs hardly existed 40 years ago, and even now, there is a much smaller selection available to the left handed player.

I think Shindig was referring to left-handers that played right handed. Mickelson, as you know, is a right-hander who plays from the left side. Didn't know that about Weir.

Anyway, to get back to Shindig's question, I could be wrong but I seem to recall that Johnny Miller and Curtis Strange are lefties who played right handed. There may have been others. He hasn't won yet, but Sergio is also left handed, I think.

Yes, this is what I meant. Sorry for any confusion.

    • So far only -5 but... I've Birdied 2 of the 4 holes I wasn't able to last year.  Hopefully will Birdie all 18 this year, maybe an Eagle or 2!
    • Titleist TSR1 or TSi1.  Both have adjustable hosels. edit:  Forgot to mention the GT1.
    • I've been really absent all things golf since September but have been getting the bug lately.  Today in SE Michigan we have our first thaw of the year.  It is Sunny and 53 degrees and boy do I want to get on a golf course!  Spring is around the corner 🙂
    • I assume you are posting 15 or 16 holes and letting the USGA algorithm insert projected scores for the missing holes. How is that going? Are the projected scores reasonable? I have yet to do this.
    • You're right. I haven't really had an issue with this before, but it's definitely worth closing the legs a bit to see what happens. I've had 2 of these and never had this problem before. About 5 years of use between the 2. It's really odd. Yeah, I've always had a bit of inconsistency and misreads, but this is a new level. I did a baseline session last night, and all my of stack speeds had decreased by roughly 5-10 mph (with me throwing out the obvious garbage readings). Weirdly, the driver speed actually seemed to be right where I expected it. I guess maybe it's having trouble with the smaller head of the stack vs. a driver? Whatever it is, I think it's time for me to go with the stack radar.
