I haven't had much luck with my new AP2 irons, they just don't seem to feel right. I had been playing with my old irons for about 8 years and they had true temper dynalite shafts on them. My new shafts are project X, would it be worth it to get them reshafted with dynalites?

I just ordered the AP2's myself. Since they informed me the Project X shafts would add 4-6 weeks to the order time, I just went with the DSG 300's, the stock shaft. That is pretty close to what I have on my Taylor Made RAC's so hopefully the transition will be easy!

Good luck, hope it works out. How long have you had them? Is it something you could get used to in time?

I've never hit a set of irons with the Project X shafts that I liked. I know those are really popular, but they definitely don't work for everyone.

I played PX 5.5 for 3 years. I loved the distance, but the accuracy was all over the place. Just installed the DG S300 and the difference is night and day. I can finally feel comfortable where the ball is going.

Project X comes in different flexes. Which do you have? Might have to do with feel.

Both Dynalite shaft versions have a low kickpoint (for higher ball flight). In R and S flex, Dynalite averages about 120 grams weight, while Dynalite Gold SL averages about 103 grams. If you need higher ball flight it might work.

I would switch back to the dynalite shafts. I tried the project x shafts in three different flexes and never fell in love with the set-up. I decided to pull my older shafts (nippon) from my previous set of irons and never looked back. I know the project x shafts get a lot of love but are they always the best fit?

I think it's more of a weight thing for me. They just feel heavier throughout than the dynalites and it is messing with my swing....

really? I'm the opposite... I was using TT shafts in my MP 60's...then I hit a friend's MP 60's with his PX 6.5's and they felt great....I called and told them my SS and they told me to get the 5.5's which is what I've got on right now..and my game's only gotten better... definitely a HUGE difference in feel from the TT's...but I love the diff.

I don't think it would be worth it. those clubs have so much value you would be better off selling them and getting new ones. I'd love to try the Mizuno shaft fitting system.

Very nice! I was born in Uniontown and grew up in North Huntingdon Township. Hope to follow in your footsteps at some point and head to SC, preferably somewhere outside Myrtle!

I don't know what it is but I absolutely love the Project X shafts! I had my shafts pured and freq'd out and they are lasers...

But to answer your question, the shaft is the engine of the club. Most of the time when a club does not feel right it is because of the shaft! Just food for thought...

i got my mp58's off the mizuno fitting system. i as well, don't hit the project shafts right ... they just don't feel "right" when hitting the ball.
