How often is your miss a lower right-to-left ball?

The majority of my misses are a push that files dead straight. I find find with that miss, I come to much from the inside on the downswing with a square face. The timing of my weight shift with that typical miss for me is what I have a hard time with when it creeps into my game during a round

Thank you! Being a former NCAA baseball player really helped me with generating power with my legs and lag with the golf swing.

Tons of power, but you drop your head quite a bit when transitioning into your downswing. I'd work on slowing your tempo and keeping your head still.

nice swing... yeah, the only thing i'd be wary of is the slight head drop. but, if it's not causing you to hit fat, then don't worry about it.

It surprises me that noone has said that your posture at address is pretty bent over as well. You are clearly making it work, but if your swing was mine I would work on standing more upright, using more of my lower body in my swing, and slowing my tempo slightly... Just my 0.02 for what it's worth...

Great suggestions! The head drop comments are certainly valid and it's something that I try to work on. With my shorter irons, I don't drop my head as much but with the longer clubs (woods, etc), I really drive with my lower half which causes my head drop.

You are right..but I find bending over slighty helps with my one plane swing

Love the compactness of your swing. Club looks very controlled at end of backswing and finish position.

A lot of pros dip their heads on the downswing. As long as it's from "compressing" into the ground (i.e. squatting), I think you're fine. It can be a power move when you push off the ground for leverage and extend your spine through impact.

I didn't think of it in that way. Makes total sense.

    • A strong grip cups the wrist (lead) and then it wants to flatten through impact, something I used to be able to avoid to keep it from going left and protecting my forearm (the main premise of my set up). Longer the club, harder it is becoming. Either way, yes, I need to transition to gripping it open.
    • Why don't you grip it "open" so you can return your hand to the place where you're comfortable/not sore, but the ball won't go left? It's effectively weaker… without actually "being" weaker?
    • Day 47 - 2024-11-16 Light backswing work with about 3 or 4 rehearsals for every ball hit. Only about ten minutes while waiting for a potential member to show up (he was 25 minutes late). 😛
    • Idk but I would have to imagine that a putter that is aimed where you think it's aimed would be the most important aspect of a putter
