Does anyone know anything about Maruman? They don't seem to have much of a presence here in the US, but I inherited a Maruman iron set that I've used pretty much my whole golf life. They're Maruman Verity-U's, I'm guessing about 10-15 years old.

My uncle actually bought a new set of Maruman irons a couple months ago and spent around 1000, so they must be decent...?

Any thoughts?

I found a picture online of my irons: http://www.phing.com/listing/152454-...GOOD-CONDITION

I was attending the PGA show in Orlando a few weeks ago and came across their booth.   Their head of sales ran me through their line, apparently they are HUGE on the Japanese tour and are trying to push into the US Market.  Maruman's rep was telling me that they never sponsor golfers on the Japanese tour, yet, a big percentage of the pros out there use them.  Very interesting talking to their reps, very nice guys.

They had a 3way booth: Maruman, Royal Collection (another Japanese brand trying to push into US) and Diadora Golf shoes.  Very interesting setup.

Cheers.

Recently the company was bought by Some south Korean golf company. Builds one of most beautiful clubs in the world. Especially popular among old people like Honma. I have seen this rich dude talking about his Maruman full set and he said he paid more than $30,000 and his driver was plated in gold and had some beautiful classic Japanese art on it. Very popular over in Asia especially in korea and japan

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
