Dave turned me on to these shoes, and I've really been digging them. They're great for instruction AND playing golf. I've slipped once, and I'd have slipped in spikes too - tried to get too much out of a tee shot on one long hole - and they're super comfortable. The little nubby grips on the sole do a tremendous job of grabbing the ground, whether it's a mat or a cool, wet tee.

Highly recommended.

Guess I'm not fully convinced that spikeless shoes will perform as well as traditional plastic spikes (probably because I have not tried them yet ). They do look comfortable though.

During an interview with Freddie at the Hawaii event he said his shoes had spikes in them... but from what I saw yesterday it looked like they didnt.

Some Nike shoes made for trails or something also have some pretty sizable nubs on the bottom, I bet they'd be good.

That's what I wear. I feel glued to the ground. They are too sticky for the mats at the driving range.

how water proof are they? That is always the biggest advantage of golf shoes to me. i sometimes play in cross trainer running shoes because they are more comfortable to walk the course in, but if I get into the deep ruff, I always end up with wet feet. Playing with golf shoes helps to keep my feet dry. That is the biggest advantage as far as I am concerned.

Definitly wet. When I walk late afternoons its not a problem. Mornings I change socks after 9. I'm a sock freak though. I change my socks three times a day even when I'm not playing.

They did look pretty neat. I bought a couple of pair of shoes just becuase they were cheap. One pair I got were the adidas running looking golf shoes thinking I'd just wear them to the range and what not. (I have a pair of Tour 360 3.0 and Dry Joys both brand new or like new) But I have worn them a couple of times and I like them alot. They are light and confortable and will probably wear them a ton so I can save my other shoes and not wear them out. I am a little surprised because I tend to dress very well when I play but man, they are nice.

Reebok has a general-purpose shoe which I use sometimes for hitting at the range, or playing par 3 courses.

It's called Time&AHalf;, and it's designed as a service worker's shoe. It has leather uppers, and the soles are oil-resistant and slip-resistant. The tread pattern is "herringbone pattern and multi-directional lugs." The lugs are a thinner version of those used on on synthetic-turf athletic shoes. Treads don't leave any imprint on putting greens.

Very comfortable, sells for under $60, and can be used for gym workouts or worn with casual attire.
