..with everything else taken into mind (nice grip, athletic stance, aim, etc.):

Driver:
1. Don't try to hit just the tiny ball on the tee..hit the whole area from the top of the ball to the bottom of the tee. This is my optimal hitting zone..think of hitting a grapefruit on the ground..a lot bigger and nice right..(thanks to Natalie Gulbis)

2. The ball should be 2-3 ball right of my left heel. I say closer to 3, for me, as I tend to hit bad, low duck hooks if I play the ball closer to the heel.

3. Stay back on my right side at impact..a must if I want to get the ball up.

4. EASY Swing through the whole target zone (top of ball to bottom of tee..remember the Gulbis tip) like a good practice swing. DON'T try to hit it any harder..no need or reason..remember my swing should be as fast and smooth as my practice swing..period.

Irons:
Keep my right elbow as "naturally" close to my side as possible on both the back and down swing..this seems to put my swing on track. It feels as if the only thing my right hand and elbow are doing are doing is supporting the club on the right path. It feels shallow, but it's not.

Misc:
Do not make unforced errors..these are inexcusable shots that I would've hit better given another try..duffs, skulls, fatties. If I'm unsure..hit a 6-7 iron and get out of there..better that than a unforced error duff.

I usually got only one or two thoughts at all time. Those are things I work at, like head movement, take-away plane, weight shift etc. Everything at once is impossible, so I'll just have to keep focus on the same for so long that it hopefully becomes automatic.

My best results come when I'm simply thinking of the target and keeping that mental picture of it in my head because it seems like I swing more thru and towards it. Sometimes however, when I get sloppy, I have to think "keep moving forward" because one of my biggest flaws at times, at least off the tee, it to hang back too much.
