I used the NXT's for a while before playing the AD333's and changed straight away, I do prefer the srixon's hands down but am partial to likeing the softness of the Pro V1's, I might try the Trispeeds or event splash out on some penta's to try the higher end ball but at my handicap I wouldnt even notice the dif! :)

The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson. "Is the word spelt p-u-t or p-u-t-t?" she asked the instructor. "P-u-t-t is correct," he replied. "Put means to place a thing where you want it. Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing."

To be fair, there probably isn't a bad ball out there, but there sure are a lot of people who think product x is crap while product y is superior to all others.

Im going to have to disagree, sorry. There is a definite difference in golf ball production, especially between the higher end and medium range balls. Materials used, cores used, etc…

I hate the "handicap" excuse. People use it a little too much like a crutch. Give yourself some credit. Anyone who plays golf consistently should be able to "feel" the difference in most medium to premium golf balls. IF and when you can hit the ball in the same spot of the club face consistently you should definitely be able to "feel" the differences in certain balls.

In my Ogio bag.

Titleist 910D2 driver, Adams irons & hybrid, Callaway wedges & a Nike Method putter.

And a yellow ball.

I can feel the differences but all I am saying is at my handicap there is not a lot of change to the way I play at this time, thats not an excuse :)

I played a round or two with the Srixon Z Star Tour last year and was pleased with the results.  The ball is soft and durable.  I picked up a box of the Z Star Tour Yellow balls over the winter and am looking forward to trying them out next month.  Hopefully I play well -- I feel like if you are playing golf with a yellow golf ball, you better be good!

Do only certain stores carry Srixon clubs and other gear? I see the golf ball line in stores but I have never seen a club in a Golfsmith, Dicks, Sports Authority or when I was at Martins PGA Superstore in SC.

I have seen Srixon irons and woods offered in the area, but I can't remember where. Wish you had asked a week ago when I was headed to the Golf Expo. I could have looked for them, and asked vendors if the handled Srixon clubs.

I probably should have also asked if anyone uses Srixon irons, woods, or hybrids. Or do you know anyone who does? And of course how do you like them? Or not like them

    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
    • Day 12 - 2025-12-31 Limited time today, and heavy rains here. 5-10 minutes of mirror work for full swing, working on trail side.
    • Day 2, 12/31/25.  Similar to yesterday (rainy, no surprise), I hit primarily 6-iron full swings with the same focus;  I also hit some chips (about 1/8 swing) with the 54.  About two dozen full swings and an equal number of short shots.  All of this was indoors, off a mat, into a net, real balls.
