I am playing much better as of recently. I was fighting a fade and it still does every now and then, but I can hit a draw if I focus and make good contact. My driver has become a fairway finding machine lately.

Let me know what you think. I would really love to see anyone who can put some still frames of me at impact. I dont have a special camera....not really sure what the FPS are either.

Youtube made you a very telling still frame, actually. Look at the freeze frame for your "Kyle 6 iron front.AVI" video. A massive flip + Chicken wing to boot. Sorry, but iacas was not pointing out a good weight transfer. He was pointing out the lack of a flat left wrist at impact.

I see it now. That one looks bad lol. Trust me....they're not all like that

No offense, but if three of them are like that, there's a chance many of them are.

None taken. Thats why I video my swing. I went to the range tonight and hit some good shots. Now I know what I need to work on tomorrow night.

are you hitting fat most of the time (taking out a huge piece of dirt)? It seems to me you should work on your posture as well as keeping your upper spine strait throguh the ball. I would work on that before i started working on weight shifting but thats just me.

The day these were filmed I wasnt really working on anything. Just hitting balls. The range needed to move the ropes cuz I was practically hitting on dirt. My clubs are way too short for me and I will be fitted for AP2's soon. I have days where everything is fat and some days where I fight a borderline slice, but overall I can still keep it in the mid-80's. I think the new irons will help me stand up much straighter and maybe get me to a single digit.

Yeah, like the others are saying, I'd work on your left side through impact. Particularly that left wrist. Check out Hogan's Five Lessons book, if you have it, for nice detail on proper execution. I'd also work on your ball position. Looks too be well off your back foot in 6iron front 2. Tempo and balance looks good! So does the speed through impact.

Im headed to the range tonight. Dont think Ill be able to get any new video, but I will work on my ball position and keeping that left arm straight through impact.

Your ball position for both 6i and Driver appear to be well back in your stance. I understand moving the ball back to promote a draw, but this seems excessive to me.

Thoughts?

I think the driver ball position looks back due to camera angle. After looking it over again and again I noticed Im kind of turned towards the camera a little bit. My girlfriend needs to stand perpendicular next time. Ball position on driver is usually just inside my left big toe. 6 iron on the other hand, needs to move forward a little bit.

With respect to the camera angle, I picked up this book last year since I do a lot of self analysis with video: http://www.amazon.ca/Picture-Perfect...9&sr;=8-1-spell

While I wouldn't necessarily recommend the book, one tip the author makes is to set up the camera as follows:

Down the line: Set the camera up 20 ft behind the golfer roughly waist high. Aim the camera so that it is aimed where the hands would be at address.
Face On: Set the camer up 20 ft in front of the golfer roughly waist high. Aim the camera so the golfer is centered in the picture.

This helped a lot so that I was consistently recording swings from the same angle/depth/height and allowed me to accurately compare swings over time.

Thought I'd pass that on ...

Well tonight sucked. I show up to the range with my dad. We buy a pro bucket (200 balls) and hit the range. Its pretty packed but I see two open spots around this guy, so my n my pops split up. I get to my spot and all the grass is dead and sandy and not firm at all. I took my 3rd swing with my wedge and a section of 2ft by 2ft grass ripped up..... I guess they put some filler grass in and it never took. So now Im at a packed range practically hitting shitty sand shots. Anyways, Ill hit the range again Saturday before my early morning round Sunday. Hoping to break 80 for the first time.

    • A strong grip cups the wrist (lead) and then it wants to flatten through impact, something I used to be able to avoid to keep it from going left and protecting my forearm (the main premise of my set up). Longer the club, harder it is becoming. Either way, yes, I need to transition to gripping it open.
    • Why don't you grip it "open" so you can return your hand to the place where you're comfortable/not sore, but the ball won't go left? It's effectively weaker… without actually "being" weaker?
    • Day 47 - 2024-11-16 Light backswing work with about 3 or 4 rehearsals for every ball hit. Only about ten minutes while waiting for a potential member to show up (he was 25 minutes late). 😛
