The 2010 version of the titliest AP1 has grooves conforming to the new USGA rule. Has anyone demoed these on the course or even bought them? If so do you notice a significant difference in the spin?

I bought the ap1 about 2 months ago, and i have no problems with them. Best overall irons i've had, i had g10.

No offense to anyone but unless you're good enough to really know how to hit with spin and can control it you won't notice. The only difference you might notice is if your swing creates a lot of spin you probably won't see as much action.

The 2008-2009 AP2's meet groove rule aswell....

Trust me you really wont notice a difference, my only suggestion is if your going to buy wedges buy them this year...

There is somewhat of a difference in the regular irons. Like flyers. I never knew what a flyer truly was until i hit an 7 iron 190 yards last year when i started using the AP2's. It was ridiculous, i barley swung at the ball. The ball will also realese more for me out of the rough. So playing forced carry iron shots out of the rough is a little more tricky than they used to be. You just have to be a little more careful in reading your lies in the rough. From clean lies i havent noticed much of a difference at all in the what the ball does when it lands.

REALLY!? Last years ap1's confine to the rule!? NO WAY! My local course has a set on sale. I don't have them money right now but i don't see them going anywhere soon and i could possibly have them held (put on my account).

Last years AP1's ive seen being sold as low as 300 bucks. If you can get your hands on a new set around that price i would start digging through my couch or something, lol. They're really good clubs.

But last year's ap1 suck! I hit both the 2009 and 2010 side by side tonite at the course and there was no comparison. I will honestly wait and save up for the 2010.

      _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.

      Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.

      I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.

      I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
