Gamecocks looked pretty good last night. Although Southern Miss is pretty bad. I'm starting to really like them against GA next week. Especially with Gilmore shutting AJ down.

Geeze what crazy juice have they dumped into the water supply in Columbia? You beat a terrible Southern Miss, and that gives you cofidence against a top teir SEC team?

I'll be glad when UGA whoops their cupcake tomorrow, but that does Zero for my Florida predictions! Our practices are tougher than Southern Miss!

I don't know how they will fair against GA, but I agree they looked solid. They have some good freshman to look forward too.

I can't remember seeing a Florida offense look this inept. Y'all better get that mess sorted out before you come to Tuscaloosa, or it could get really ugly, really fast.

I agree. That was a good game. Now they just have to get by Oregon State and then blowout their conference and make a run at the title. Boise State is a prime example of the need for playoffs in college.

last night was great game. it is also part of the reason why Boise shouldn't have chance to play for a title this year. They beat VA Tech which is good program but one win there and beating Oregon state doesn't merit a national title game. it is a good reason for a play-off though.

I agree. I had the same thoughts as soon as I heard the pre-season rankings. I have never liked pre-season rankings for this reason. I mean a team with a schedule ranking in the 90s shouldn't be ranked 3rd with teams with rankings in the low digits. But this year is a bit different. The coaches and what not will have a lot more say in the rankings. So now Boise State needs VT to have a great year and Boise needs to really beat their remaining opponents....and I mean by like 30 points to really make a showing.

Agreed with all above.

Boise St, even if they run the table and do so convincingly, would turn the NCG into a debacle not unlike the Georgia vs. Hawaii game from a couple years back. They're just not an elite program. I like them but as I told a freiend the other day, "A mule can work hard and make a good showing for 5 years but in the end he is what he is. A plow puller. He's not winning the Kentucky Derby."

That being said, providing my Bucks make it again, let's hope Pryor doesn't take a Troy Smith-like buffet trip every day for a month before the bowl game and add a second or more to his 40. :)

Really looking forward to Penn State this weekend. Should be a really good test to see where we really are. Last week's tune-up was a good chance to see some third string guys.

I'm curious about this game as well. I think it will be closer than most people realize but I think Alabama will win it. What's the word on Ingram

He's not going to play. Richardson can carry the load, and Lacy and Goode are quite capable. It'll be close, but I think we'll win by ten points or so. Experience at quarterback will be a real key.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
