noticed yesterday playing and hitting the pings for the first time that I would either blade or hit everything off the toe.

so I got to looking at my divot and noticed that where the toe of the club came thru was taking a nice divot but the rest of the club head was not..

to me checking out the divot was better than using tape or a strike mat as it told me everything I needed to know, off the shelf clubs will not work for me unless properly fit.. (I need +3/4* upright and +½)

I started lowering my hands to make sure the club head struck the ground parallel like it should but that only caused me to yank everything left, but it also did tell me a bunch..

ordering a new set this week, custom fit..

Divots also provide great feedback about swing path and the quality of your contact. There is a big difference in divots between good swings and bad swings for me. As far as fitting is concerned, I think a lie board is your most accurate option though. Did you have a fitter check your swing and setup prior to ordering?

Hey don't diss the black spot standard, i played black standard ping eye 2's for 10 years. Actually they were perfect for me, had them checked for fitting. They are meant for a 6'1" tall person ;b

Yup, my irons are +1. When I try other irons at the range or nets, I always leave a toe divot.

I don't typically have a divot to examine so I rely on feel and ball flight.

You picker you!

The way our fairways are right now, it's hard to take a divot with a garden spade.
