So I've come to the point where I'm about tired of the Cleveland XLS HiBore Hybrid that I got free when I for some reason purchased the XLS Driver (worst club I've have ever had) and I'm in the market for a new hybrid.

Here's what I'm looking for.

Something with very little, if not any offset at all. My XLS is offset and I believe it to be the cause of my hook tendency off the tee with the club. Something that comes with a decent shaft option. The Fujikura is a decent shaft but not great. Something that flights the ball a little lower with a 17-18 degree face. Something affordable, preferably in the 100-130$ range. I've hit the Titliest 909H series and am not a huge fan of the feel or how difficult they are to hit. I've also hit the Baffler series hybrids which I liked but did not love as well as the Taylor Made Burner series hybrids which were absolutely miserable clubs.

Here's the problem, I hit the Cleveland Launcher hybrid and liked it quite a bit.

Talk me out of another Cleveland....please...

You might like the Callaway Edge Tour hybrid. At a Demo Day I hit their 3H in both standard and Tour heads with regular shafts. Both felt good, and the topline is square when setting up - easy to align. With both clubs, I hit all five shots within center fifth of the clubface.

If hooks bother you, the Edge Tour with its low offset is worth trying. (comes in 2h-18*| 3h-21* | 4h-24*)

Focus, connect and follow through!

I know I'm a Nickent freak but when I found out they went out of business, I found myself jumping for the 5dx which I heard performs miracles, just look up some of the reviews. Now I wasn't a hybrid guy and I love my 3 iron, but I figured I could benefit from a shot which dropped and stopped at 220 (actually ended up being even further). The 3 iron was a great club to me but getting a soft landing that far out I can't really turn down.

I had one other hybrid when I was playing a GI set and I hooked it like crazy too. It's not completely the offset. The weighting in a lot of these hybrids promotes that clubface rotating shut so if you have a flat swing, it's gonna close easier.

It's $199, but the Adams Idea Pro Black fits the bill for everything you described.

I demo'd the 3H pro black and A7 ... found the A7 easier to hit and saved $50. A7 also comes with a sweet UST Mamiya AXIVcore shaft.

In my Callaway Warbird stand bag:

Golf gallaxy has overstocks of the Pro Gold on clearence for $99. Has the Ozik Atlus shaft.... Love mine. Dicks had the A4OS on sale too, has the Graphite Design Tour AD YSQ shaft. Both worth a look.

    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
