So ive read a bit on choosing a pro with similar height and build to copy your swing too. Is this a good idea, even just to compare side by side swing differences, and also where can i find a guy that is 6 feet tall and about 80kg (176pds).

Adam Scott is 6'0'' and 170 lbs. I'm pretty sure he's good at golf, too.

And he's Australian :) :) :) thanks, guess i could look on the pga website.

I think height/weight -can- be helpful, but similar body types is the important thing. Height/weight similarities are useful inasmuch as they can -trend- toward similar body types, but if one guy has long gangly arms and another has T-Rex arms you might be in trouble.

I'm 5'9"/160 with long gibbon arms and a relatively narrow chest. Mike Weir is in that range and has the added benefit of being lefty. Bubba Watson is another sorta gangly lefty, so the body type itself isn't as far off as one might think at first glance, since he's 6'3".

I hope not.... I'm built like Lee Westwood. Ironically I suffer from coming over the top just like him, but I have a strait left arm..lol.

My advice is to NOT copy a pro. You can find several pro's of the same stature and their swings are completely different. I believe you are better off following a few base fundamentals, work on a solid set-up and let natural instinct develop the rest of your swing.

I would say it's definitely ok to try to copy a pro. It is a true form of learning. It takes away the conscious thoughts of mechanics.

If I can successfully copy Ernie El's swing, I'd be a happy man.

Don't try copy a pro, they all got their flaws.

Sounds like a solid argument for picking up some flaws, har.
