For one thing, it helps to maintain a flat left wrist at and through impact.

No opinion on the bag, but some of the material on their site seems a bit iffy.

The ONLY reason that a golfer slices the ball is because they have an open club face at impact. This open club face is indicated by a short arm position after impact. If you slice the ball, this is you!

I think the idea is that you are a lot less likely to try to flip or use your hands to knock a larger, heavier object into the air. You need to use your whole body and keep proper form. The same is true of a golf ball, but it's not as obvious since you can get a decent result with terrible form. If you try that with the smash bag, you won't even move it.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW

You can make your own smash bag with a give-away gym bag (kind with no internal dividers or pockets). Fill it up with packing foam wrapped in an old beach towel.

One benefit: You feel the hands drop into impact area and make contact, like slow-motion impact since there's no ball to zip away. Also, it does prevent flipping hands. Might be able to tie it into chip-swing (?) and half-swing drills some posters have mentioned.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I put a shaft in the ground, and put the impact bag against it, and concentrate on hitting into the bag with the toe of the club and spin the bag around the outside of the shaft. This helps me learn the proper path, and release without casting.

In the bag:
Driver: Rapture V2, 9 degree, stiff shaft
Fairway Woods: X-Hot 3 wood
Hybrid: 3H
Irons: J36 PC 4-PW Project X 6.0 Shafts, FlightedWedges: CG14, 50 54 and 58 degree Putter: Guerin Rife 2 Bar with Winn grip B330S Pro V1x
