So I carry a 56 and 60 wedges ok, I brought these when I was playing on 24 (8 mounths ago) I brought them with standered bounce. Witch was 10degree on the 56 and 14 on the 60.

I now want to buy some wedges with around 3 or 4 dergrees bounce (this is what my golf coach said)
I only got to talk to her for about 5min today, as I had to go make my tee of time. So I never got to ask her, about getting them grinded, so this is why I need your help =)

My question is..... Is it possible to get my old wedges grinded down? I guessing this will make a fair difference to swing weight ect. Is worth getting them grinded, what are the downside to this?

Why did your coach suggest less bounce?

nothing wrong with grinding your wedges. I have played with wedge bounce before in the past. If you cant find a happy medium when buying a wedge then just get one with slightly more bounce and have it grinded down.

Yeah-I'd find out exactly why your coach wants you to use so little bounce (which can be useful in certain situations). If you use either of those clubs out of the sand I certainly wouldn't want 3 or 4 degrees of bounce, and I'd probably keep it above 10. I've found that what's really important is how a club opens up, regardless of the bounce. I didn't think I'd be able to hit flops with my 54* PING iWedge (with 13.5* bounce), but it opens up flat and is remarkably easy to use. I usually carry a 58* with 11.5* or 10* of bounce, and find both very versatile. If the course has a lot of tight lies or hardpan then I might put the 60* in the bag, and it has 7* of bounce.

Again, 3* or 4* might be right for your swing, but I 'd find out why, and determine what you're going to use out of the sand.

Search Joe Kwok on GolfWRX. He grinds wedges. He will basically do anything you need to clubs. He also custom fits PGA tour players clubs. I plan on getting him to fit my new irons once I get them.

That is, if I ever find a good person to get me a good dynamic fitting.

Can't see any reason why you couldn't get the bounce ground down, although I'd make sure the swingweight is adjusted back to something comfortable.

I just went from a 56* w/8* bounce, to 12* bounce and I love it. I feel much more comfortable hitting soft little shots out of the sand, the low bounce required a certain amount of "oomph" just to get through the sand with low bounce, so it was tough when shortsided to not hit it too far. More bounce gets through the sand easier, so I can swing easy and can handle short sided locations now. I hit a 40yd full flop type shot with it (had to clear a tree to get to the green) off hardpan and wasn't effected by the higher bounce.

The Wilson TW9 and Cleveland CG14 60* wedges have only 8* bounce. I don't think you will find a 56* wedge with low bounce though.
The low bounce would help if you are hitting off of hard fairways with thin grass, but would be more difficult out of the sand or rough.

I've never seen anyone play with wedges with so little bounce. I would probably investigate further why your coach thinks you need so little. You can definitely grind them down but it would be really tough to buy wedges with that low of a bounce on them.

A few companies like Titleist Vokey wedges or Scratch brand wedges offer 4 degree bounce. Scratch also has a good way of determining what is the best bounce for your swing at their site. I am in the market for a 60 degree so I have been studying a lot about them lately. Personally, I would go some where that sells clubs and see if you can even hit a 4 degree bounce wedge before grinding one down..The less bounce, the tougher it is to hit for the average golfer like me..
