Hello all
There is a Callaway demo day in the area and i havent been to one of these so i have a few questions

1. Is it free?
2. Will i get to try any of their available equipment?
3. Will i be able to sample balls and take a sleeve or two home?
4. Could i buy equipment there?

Thanks

1. I can't imagine they'd charge you for it. I've never paid to attend a demo day, other than ones that were part of a larger golf show. This is part of Callaway's advertising plan.

2. Anything they've got with them, they should allow you to try. I've refused to consider clubs from companies whose representatives refused to let me try various clubs in the past.

3. Some companies do this, some don't. I've gotten plenty of golf balls from Bridgestone, a few from Callaway, and once from Wilson.

4. Probably. I'm betting the demo day isn't on the tennis courts at school. Where's the demo day being held?

It will be at a golf course
I think the driving range will be closed off to those participating in the demo day.

Ah; you're going to get to see ball flight and everything. Sweet. I can't imagine they'll charge anything for this, and I'm sure that, if nothing else, you can buy through the pro-shop if you're inclined to purchase right then and there. You might even get a demo day discount!

Thats awesome!

I also really like their balls and drivers, so im hoping i can take a few sleeves of the i(s)'s with me. I also want to try the X-Forged Irons, though i just bought some new irons so i may not buy them. Anyone tried the New Diablo and FT IZ fairways?

About Demo Days:

* Some are held at driving ranges, but most are held at indoor stores.
* Some demo days emphasize a new driver and woods, others a wider range of clubs.
* Sometimes the company reps show up, other times they are spread too think and the store/range personnel conduct the whole show.
* You can try at least some of the clubs; it a big crowd shows up, you'll get less hitting time.
* Most demo days - regardless of company - have a set-up so that if you test the company's hot club, you get a promo box of two company balls.
* Often you get a discount on something they're selling - sometimes on the new stuff and/or last year's hot model they want to sell off. Often a good chance to pick up a new bag for less $$.

Some demo days bring in three or four manufacturer's reps at the same time. Really interesting to test different company's clubs against each other. Got to test the Callaway Edge Tour 3hybrid vs. Adams A7 3h. Both worked well, but not enough for me to rearm.

Focus, connect and follow through!

The Demo Day I attened this spring was at a Golf Dome. Good thing as weather in Erie,PA was shitty as always in early spring. The Callaway Rep had a launch monitor with him. He would check you out on a club and make suggestions for a different club to try.

Most companies have different promotional materials offered (usually balls) to the people who show up.

However, i attended a Nike demo day at Golf Galaxy this past Saturday. Worst demo day ever! There was one Nike rep on the intercom system telling people to test out the Nike clubs. Thats it!
