New Ping Tour S wedges available in the US, summer 2010

LOL your an equipment junkie mate, first the Answer Forged Ping's now the new Tour-S wedges

On a serious note what is wrong with sticking with the Tour-W's will these be that much different? or is it because you play in tournaments so need the conforming grooves?

Yea Ash, I play tournament golf, so conforming grooves are a must

Cool, are the G15's conforming then? if so are the i15's as well?

yes and yes

, but the only set with conforming PW, GW, SW, LW are G15s , in the i15s it stops at GW, so you need the new Tour S model to be conforming with SW, LW

Tidy I did not know my i15's had the new grooves, are all sets of i15's guaranteed to have the new grooves?

Check it out ,

I concur that both i15 and G15 have conforming grooves. As for Lee Westwood's irons, I would beg to differ. Apparently he's using i10s which have been re-grooved to conform:

Correct, It's Heath Slocum that uses i15s my mistake, sorry about that, point is they conform

sorry to thread hijack, but why did they all of a sudden decide to put this groove rule into effect, have the new wedges and irons been going to far with grooves?

have you been asleep for the past 12 months?

It's all over people being able to smash the ball miles and not worry about the rough since they can generate a load of spin so the ball will land softly. With the new grooves get the same amount of stop from the fairway but a lot less from the rough.
