this was his scorecard: double, bogey, birdie, hole-in-one, birdie, bogey, birdie, birdie, bogey.

How's that for a scorecard.

Golf is a crazy game... I played in a better ball tourney this past weekend and the guys we were playing with made an eagle and 4 birdies ended up shooting even. Obviously they managed to really screw up the same holes but still looking at their card at end of the round was crazy.

Totally. I was rerounding when I joined up with him and told him I'd probably only play five holes since I'd already walked eighteen. After the fifth hole, he said, "I thought you were done". I told him, "I want to see how this story ends".

It was kind of a fortuitous evening. If we hadn't joined up, his ace would've gone unwitnessed. We ended up drinking beers (something I NEVER do while golfing) for the rest of the holes after his ace at the fourth. He was fun to talk with and a memorable experience.

lol... that's pretty cool man. was he a pretty good golfer?

Yes and no. He hasn't been playing for very long but you could tell he has natural ability by watching him swing. The bottom line was that everything he hit was going in. Let's see, he made a 14' putt for birdie, aced a 140 yard par 3, dropped a 40ish foot putt for birdie, was on in two and two putted for a birdie, and chipped in from about 30' for his last birdie.

I think it was just his day, and it was fun to watch.

Wow - that's -1 for nine holes without a single par! And -4 for the final seven holes with two bogeys!

Never seen a round like that myself.

Cheers,

He hasn't established a handicap. This was only his second time out this year.

Where were you playing? If that was Quail Hollow then the only way to go low like that is to take the putting out of the game lmao

It was Quail Hollow in Boise. You familiar with the course? True - you definitely pay the price on some holes if you put yourself on the wrong part of the green.

I've played there a few times, not enough to know where to place the ball on the green. I remember thinking the only thing missing on these greens is a windmill and clowns nose :)
I play Shadow Valley and Banbury when I'm in town. I will also be playing the Treasure Valley AM at Plantation CC next month.
