North Korea...definitely non-cliched!

For some reason, I don't think I'd be able to walk into a pub in blood-red suburban Atlanta (or rural western Illinois, where I'll be visiting family through this weekend) cheering for the North Korean national team and expect to leave with all of my extremities.

Go for the Dutch, then. No one really dislikes them bar the Belgians and there's probably not many of those buggers around either Atlanta or rural Illinois.

Stretch.

Messi had a better season than Ronaldo. Neither are great for their country; Ronaldo hasn't score for Portugal since Euro 2008 and Maradona doesn't use Messi properly. Messi's probably the better player and he's younger but both are superb.

Kingfisher, there isn't a lot of money to spend. Only made a profit last year after selling Ronaldo. Who will it be this year?

So excited for this...I don't care who's playing, I'm going to try and watch every single match. I'll be rooting for the U.S. obviously, Ivory Coast (because of Drogba), and Netherlands (because I like orange).

As for a breakout candidate that will garner a huge transfer fee this summer, look for Mexico's Giovani Dos Santos.

Dos Santos has shown so little in his time at England. Good technically but not up to the pace and strength of the English game. He'll not move for a big fee.

IMO he really hasn't been given a fair shake at Spurs, but I do agree that he isn't quite strong enough to handle the rigors of the EPL. If he has a good World Cup I can see his value going off the charts.

He'd maybe bump it up a couple of million but I can't see him going anywhere for much if any more than Spurs paid. I can see him staying at Galatasary; he had a good spell there and it's about his level.

Or you could play it super-safe and cheer for USA.

Then cheer for New Zealand, first world cup in 28 years and just as bad if not worse odds to win it all than North Korea, the ultimate underdog, and the only thing your relatives could get pissed off about is the fact that we don't let your nuclear powered navy ships in our ports. C'mon everyone - second favourite team = New Zealand (at least until the group stage is over and we go crashing out)!

chelsea? omg, they should be renamed douchebag FC. let's tally the wankers on the squad shall we... cap'n john, ashley cole(more on him later), divin' didier, nicklaus 'my attitude is only slightly better than djibril cisse' annelka, salomon 'the smurf' khalou, and florent 'they spent how much on my transfer fee?!' malouda. did you know that ashley cole had his autobiography written? notwithstanding he's not even close to being the best player on his team and never has been, the guy is only 32 years old. he definitely takes himself waaaay too seriously. also, chelsea are cheaters. that is all.

yeah... the Reds had an off season... hopefully some off-season tranfers and signings will bolster the team. They really belong in the top 4.

I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but Drogba is OUT.... barring a super fast healing from his surgery. He broke his arm in the friendly vs Japan. Ivory Coast is going to have a hell of a time making it out of pool play now with Brazil and Portual.

Drogba practiced today and he's schedules to play their opening match on Tuesday... I guess he's a fast healer

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
