Quitting when u play bad.

Isn't quitting kind of like "reverse sandbagging"? This makes your HC lower than it should be, by not including these "bad" rounds?

I don't quit in tournament rounds.

If I'm playing a few holes by myself I don't see the point in going on if I'm playing terrible.

I don't quit when I'm playing bad. Sometimes I'm tempted to. But I try to play through it and hope it gets better. If I'm really playing poorly, usually it doesnt. Something I'm working really hard on is forgetting that last bad shot or hole and "starting fresh" with the next.

Today is a prime example why I don't "normally" quit. I hit my one and only decent drive of the day, about 260 down the left side and on the short stuff, leaving about 140 to the green. 2nd shot was right off the toe and maybe I gained 15 yards, but under a tree in the right rough! Pulled it out from under the tree, and took the blasted penalty stroke AGAIN!!! Next shot was the most beautiful 9-iron I may have ever hit. Three feet from the pin, and still managed to bogey the hole... You just have to LOVE this game!!

That's a tough thing for me as well. When I have my blow up hole, it tends to carry over to the next one. It's hard to put the last hole behind me & start fresh.

I often play alone in the early a.m.. If I am facing a bad round, I will quit and hit the range to correct my issues. Quitting while playing with a group...well that's just rude.

If I'm at the point where nothing is going right and I'm not having any fun, I don't see why I would keep playing (If I'm a member at the course and golf is "free").

I've never thought of hanging them up in the middle of a round. Playing through the 'adversity' of blow up holes, and missed shots or putts is something that I am always working on. I know those holes are coming but afterwards I have to walk to the next tee box and vanish the last hole or shot from my mind. For me this is the difference betweeen carding an 84 versus a 90. The only way I'd walk off the course is due to injury or weather.
