My budget for 2 wedges (would like a 52 gap and 60 lob) is roughly $120 total.
What would you guys purchase in that price range ?

I am getting a 48 deg Oil can Vokey to replace my current pw, but I just dont have the budget to buy 2 more of those. A buddy of mine recommended Maxfli wedges. He bought 2 of them for $75 or so on sale at Dicks and likes them alot compared to his Cleveland G14 and Mizuno SW.

Any other options out there ?

Also I have to get all my clubs cut down so I figure I'll have about $12 extra per club in club cutdown, re-grip fee and new grip.

Also one other question. If I buy a 2009 wedge those will have the old (high spin) grooves correct ?

They are not demos, they put those in their used section.

Narrowed it down to a few choices in my price range.

Adams Watson $49
Maxfli C3 - $69. currently buy 1 get 1 free at Dicks
Nike SV Tour - $69
Cleveland CG10 - $59
Cleveland CG12 - $69

Are any of these clearly better than the rest in that price range? Also the CG10, how old is that club - 2008 or 2009 ?

Also with my handicap (around a 20) would it even be worth it for me to buy something like a CG15, Callaway Jaws or Vokey for $109-119 ? Or just stick with the cheaper ones ? Mainly looking for a 60 degree wedge now. I don't feel I'll need a gap wedge at this point.

The Adams Watson wedges are really nice. I have 3, and can switch them out for my Vokey or MacGregor DW with no loss of performance.

you can get those same Watson wedges for 29.99 at Rock bottom golf

I figured those were the older model, but it says 2010 when you click on it.

Interesting because Globalgolf.com had the older model for $29 and the new model for $49 One thing that scares me about the Watson's is the chrome finish. My hybrids all have chrome bottoms and they scratch very easy. I know looks shouldn't matter but I am kind of a fanatic when it comes to keeping my clubs looking like new, lol

I've got an older (2008 or 2009) model Tom Watson PVD wedge that I like a lot. The PVD finish rubbed off the bottom half in a hurry, but I'd imagine the chrome would hold up a bit better. I was annoyed at first, but I sort of like the bi-color look now.

In the bag:

T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW

Callaway X-Forged and earlier Mizuno MP-T series wedges run about $70 each now.

Be aware that if you cut the shaft more than a half inch, it may stiffen the shaft somewhat. Also, trimming can decrease swingweight.

I know I am going to need at least an inch cut off, being 5' 4".

Even with cut down clubs I still choke down another inch or 2 on chips and pitches. So to choke down on a normal length club is too much.

Ended up biting the bullet and bought a 60/4 degree Vokey. Got a really good deal. my local shop had them for $109.

Figure since I was getting a Vokey 48 deg PW for free that I should just stick with the same brand. thanks for all suggestions though.

We'll see how it works on the course tomorrow.

That's a good club, but you don't appear to have a wedge with a decent amount of bounce for use out of the sand or soft, fluffy lies.
