diamana blue board help please

Guys,
I have a G15 driver 10.5 fitted with an Aldila Serrano shaft which I hate. Its very unresponsive and doesn't respond very well. I.e I feel it twisting just before impact.

I have tried a blue board and loved it but I am confused.

Is my driver through bore or not?
Is it worth me getting it spine-aligned?
Also I cant work out if it would be ok to buy the .335 and fit the sleeve to take it to .350 without any performance loss?
Its a 63 3.6 what does that mean exactly?

Also how do I know if its a proper aftermarket shaft and not a made for?

Sorry for all the questions its an expensive purchase for me

A) i too love the blueboard. probobly one of the best shafts. ever.
b) your driver is not a bore thru.
C)no, i have had two spine alihgned drivers, and if you just insert the shaft with the lable looking left, it is spine alighned, i can show you pics if you want of my spined whiteboard.
D) yes, its okay to shim a shaft. the 3 wood in my sig has a shim in it, and if you can tell me a difference between it a non shimmed one, be my guest!
E) its 63 grams, maybe 3.6 degrees of torque. i think the 63 is actually 64 or 67 grams, i dont remember exactly.
F) check out golfwrx.com and look in their market place, you can buy legit flowerbands or at the very minimum non made for shafts for about 100 bucks, which is alot cheaper than the 300 for a brand new one.

if you have any other questions, do let me know. the g15 is a great head and should be a beast with the blueboard in it.

The real BB's are 63g in stiff flex, the X flex is 65g

if you look down the left side of the shaft, a little below the flowerband, you can see a sliver of the "whiteboard" logo, the black ring around it that is, thats where 99% of spined shafts end up pointing. I had a 3-pw set of Project x, 7/8 ended up in that same position..

I am glad you said the g15 will be good with the blueboard in it!
I am hoping it should provide more feel for where the club head is throughout the swing - something the serrano lacks

I got this reply from the seller - "
The shaft is 43.75" as they are taken out of blind bore clubs.The shaft is original(not made for anyone.It will fit in your Ping with a brass shim which we supply free,as your Ping serrano is a .350 tip and the ones i have are .335."

Will the shim affect swingweight - which I dont know what that will change to anyways!?
and also I was hoping to have a 45-46" driver what does blind bore mean?

blind bore is basically the standard way to install shafts - it goes in the hosel about 1.5-1.75"
a bore through (like my 905T) means it goes all the way into the head and bascially out the bottom (then they cut it off there)
typically the standard length is 1.5-1.75" into the head, so that shaft will let you have 45"

the shim shouldnt affect your swing weight and if it does, you wont notice it

Blue Boards (and Diamana shafts in general) play about a 1/2 to a full flex less than they say
i had a BB that cpm'd out at a regular and an x that cpm'd out at a stiff
so either have it tipped or buy a stiffer flex than you need

yes i would buy a stiff and put it in stock, no tipping

i would have a shorter driver it it was me
i use a 44.75" driver and im 6'2"
Bubba Watson recently did a write up for GD and he mentions to add loft, use a shorter driver for more distance & accuracy

Bumping this old thread. I have a driver swing speed of 92-95 mph. I am currently using a R1 black driver with a stiff flex shaft(the shaft from the SLDR). I bought a used 909 d2 driver in 9.5. Not the correct loft for me by I did like the Diamana blue shaft in regular it came with. Besides having the correct TM adapter put on the Diamana would this combo work? Obviously without seeing my swing and only off the bare minimum info I gave. I am hoping for at least 220-230 yds. Any advice will help. The cost will basically only be $30 for adapter and $5 for new grip. Will trade the 909 with other shaft in so it will be a wash what I bought it for.
