Callawaygolfpreowned has the X Woods (2008) on sale at 35% off. My set only has driver and 4-PW, so I thought about picking these up. I like their Hyper X driver very much, so far.

I could get "Very Good" condition 3, 5, and 7 woods for $211 shipped. What do you guys think?

Let us know how they are, maybe some pics?

I'm curious to see what they consider "Very good"

Will do. For $11 more you could get "like new" but I'm being cheap and would use the $11 for bucket at the range, a pack of balls, or a lunch, etc.

from my experience with callaway golf pre owned, there is not much difference between very good, good, and average. Ive bought some that were ranked very good to find them in average condition and Ive bought some in good condition that were like new.

11 each, or 11 total? if it was 11 total i would have definatly done it, but if it was 33 bucks total i wouldve been cheap like you.

like I said. I probably wont buy another one thats considered "like new". I will always go for good condition because I have bought two things that were considered "like new" condition but were no different than clubs I bought that was considered "good" and "average" . BTW I have never been disappointed in the condition of them, I was a little concerned how the "average" one was going to look and it was a 3 wood, it turned out to be no different than the ones I ordered in "like new".

$11 total. I thought about getting "Like New," but like I said I was being cheap. Haha. I really don't think the difference in condition between "Like New" and "Very Good" will be that significant. Either way, it's a good deal, now that I think about it.

I play the Callaway X (08) 5 wood and love it! The sole design makes it a great club out of the light rough and good off the fairway.

I played the Callaway X460 (08) driver for a year and half and it was pretty good. Loved the traditional shape at address, very nice looking club, feel and sound were great. To be honest, I didn't find the driver to be all that much longer or more forgiving than most out there...but it was about average in those regards.

What I Play:

Driver: R9 460
4 Wood: G15

Hy: Callaway FT 3Hy

Irons: AP1 4-PW

Wedges: Vokey 52* & 60*, Mizuno MP-T 10 58*

Putter: Newport Studio Select 2.7

Ball: Nike One Vapor

Got my X Woods last week, and the "Very Good" condition clubs are fantastic. I attached photos for you guys to see the condition they're in. Worth the $11 or so I saved when I bought them, compared to "Like New"

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
