Went out and bought a new putter to replace my MEAN Scotty Cameron. Needed something new to get a little confidence back on the greens. Got the new Ping IN Anser V2...can't wait to get out and make 10 birdies.

The Scotty was not very forgiving. I know that sounds weird in a putter but I have a tendency to cut my putts a little bit and that style of putter did not help me. It's sad because I absolutely loved the feel of the Cameron, it was a soft gun metal and looked really slick. In the end, I want to make more putts from inside 10 feet and I needed to go back to some basics. So...anyone looking for a nice putter for cheap?? :)

Ok so I've played a few rounds with the new putter and the verdict is in. I'd be a goddamn tour pro right now if this putter was in my bag the last few years. Amazing to think that Ping makes good putters, who would have thought of that?

Considering they paved the way for putters with the original Answer decades ago, quite a few might think that =P

Congrats on your putting! I would love to have that same putter. Just spending on other things for right now =)

I know what Bastid means about that Scotty Cameron. I just sold my Coronado 2 on Ebay because I thought it was unforgiving. I ended up buying 4 Ping putters: an Anser, Anser 2, a B60, and a Zing. I've played one round with the Zing so far and I haven't had the other ones out yet but the difference in my putting is already quite noticeable. Best of all, the 4 Pings collectively cost me less to purchase than what I got for the Scotty on Ebay. Definitely a win-win situation for me.

I ended up going with the Anser 2 a few months ago over the Scotty California Monterey. It was more the price for me than forgiveness, but I demoed at a local Golfsmith and not on a real green so who knows. I couldn't justify double the cost and didn't want to chance a Scotty fake on eBay. Anyway, about 10 rounds later and I couldn't be happier. I love my Ping! Great feel and goes where I intend to hit it. If I could only read a green...

funny post...as i am too off a Scotty recently
went to a RIFE Abaco
like the looks of this putter, but thats about it
this putter puts waaaay to much forward roll on the ball (I know, sounds stupid)
but i have NEVER lipped out so many putts in my life
it hits the lip and picks up speed and gone - even some 360's (around the hole and back to me)

I never experienced this with any other putter

picked up a new PING Karsten Anser 34" today
did the online fitting tool (plus I have an actual fitting under my belt to go off of) and this was one of the putters reccomended
tried it out in the store and it felt amazing
little heavier but i think i will get some distance control back w it too

they were out of my pingman blackout's though, so i have ot play w the stock grip for a few weeks......usps couldnt show up sooner

started my career w a ping, so pretty stoked up to put it in play

Has anyone played the top line odyssey putter? I've tried scottys but they seem to firm for me. I like a softer feel and it seems like the inserts on the black odysseys would help. Thoughts?

Seriously, Ping (Karsten) started the whole putter revolution with heel-toe weighting. I miss my B60...found a watery grave in '92...I traded putters with my brother who had a temper back then and promptly claimed his Zing 2.

Hah...yeah I was being a tad bit sarcastic. Years back I had the Nickel Anser 2 and I absolutely loved it. For whatever reason I bought the Cameron, now I've switched back for good. I know the rest of the companies make solid products, but for the price Ping is absolutely the best. And as I'm writing this goddamn Paul Goydos shot a 59 today. The PGA has to change their slogan from "These Guys are Good" to 'These Guys are Motherf**king Good!"
