OK. I think i'm going to the golf store tomorrow to get a few things but i wanted all your opinions first.

First question is probably the easier one. I played a dozen Bridgestone B330-S balls and LOVED them. The store by me has last years model B330 balls on sale for like 15 dollars cheaper for a dozen. The advertise the B330-S balls for players with a swing speed of 105-115 and the B330 for SS of >105. I havent been hitting driver of the tee that much this year and my 3H SS is like a 103. Ill be fine with the B330's right? I guess i'm just concerned about ballooning or something with the driver.

And my other question is which wedge to buy. I'm want something with lots of spin and am leaning towards vokeys unless someone can talk me into something else. Now, my main problem is what loft to get.

Currently i have a nike 53 degree gap wedge (hand me down, nice wedge though) and a wilson harmonized 55 degree SW. very small gap but i can still hit the GW a good bit further on full swings )15-20 yards). I use the 55 for most of my chipping around the green and want something i could stop the ball with if i need to. Right now it just doesn't happen and i don't know if its me or the wedge.

Should i get a 56 and take the wilson out?
Should i get a 58 and leave the 55 in the bag? If i get a 58, could i take the 55 out or would that be too large of a gap?
What about a 60?
should i just get the 60 and then ask for the 56 for christmas or something? or visa-versa?
I still have room for 1 more club in my bag.

Sorry the post was so long, there is just alot going on in my head.

play a pro V if you want the ball to stop.

Nothing like a bump and check shot chip.

Im using the 54,58 combo and love it.. Today I was +9 on our par 30 nine hole using Pentas and I loved the way they checked on the greens today.

I would go with a 58, but go hit some shots to see what you like as far as loft is concerned when your around the greens. I use both from 40-50 in depending on the lie also.

If you want wedges with maximum spin, you cant beat the Titleist Vokeys. Be forewarned though, they arent forgiving at all and can be hard to hit till you get used to them. I like carrying a 60*, 56* and 52* wedges in my bag. I use the 60 mainly for chipping/pitching around the green when i need the ball to go high and stop quickly. I absolutely love this club. I use the 56 out of the sand, and my 52 is perfect for the 115-125 yd range. Better for me to take a full swing with a 52 than try to take some off of a PW.

I also like the 53, 58 set-up. My 52 is bent to 53.

Don't get hung up on needing a Vokey or Cleveland to impart spin. I play a 53* Vokey, and it spins a lot, but so does my 58* MacGregor, and my 52, 56, and 60* Adams TW wedges. They all have square grooves. I'd wager that just about any square groove wedge can spin the ball a ton-comes down to the swing and the ball just as much as the club.

IMO there really isn't that much difference between tour level balls except soft vs hard and even then I don't see that much difference. Basically if your ss is under 110 mph go with a softer ball; if over 110 mph go with a harder ball. I go with whatever tour quality ball I can get for less money and I perfer the softer ones like Pro V, 330-s, etc.

For wedges I go 48*, 54* and 60*. The Niki VR wedges are some of the spinnest wedges I've ever played.

I like your idea of 53-58. The 58 gives you the best of both worlds and is easier to manage than the 60 for the majority of players. I toy with my wedge set-up of 48-54-60 and used to carry 48-56-60 with the occasional 52, but I found that with 4 wedges I just had too many options and it was more of a hindrance to me. With the current set-up I seem to play more by feel and can hit a variety of shots to fit the occasion.

I am in love with my 46(PW), 50, 54, 58 set up with my wedges... My PW is a KZG, the rest are Vokeys.

Also just tried the Bridgestone B330-S balls and loved them. Long and accurate. They got tore up by my grooves though, but its not a big deal for me.

To the OP, what is the loft on your PW? You need to decide if you want 2 or 3 wedges to follow your PW.

If you go with 2, I say go 53/58.

If you go with 3, I say go 52/56/60.

I prefer Cleveland wedges over the Vokeys. To me, they just seem more solid. I also have been playing the TM Penta quite a bit and really love the ability to spin it.

Its your money, however IMHO your wasting money on too much ball for your current game and handicap. Once you get your handicap down to around 10 or 12, then worry about selecting a ball. Focus on your swing for now and get that and your short game in order. Then worry about the little things like ball type.
