he is out of it in my mind...he painful watching him play these days...he seems to just grind it out nowadays...he is playing for survival, not for the win. He says he wants to win...but his body language is more telling

I'd vote for "I dont care about Tigers finish, but will be watching the tournament" however that option wasn't there, so I didn't vote

Well THAT tournament didn't work out well for our man fowler!! lol At this point its all j. rose. Varsity_Golf

If I ever get happy with myself for finishing 12th or 15th, someone needs to put my clubs away and I'll take up tiddlywinks.

tiger looks awful however Justin rose although yet to tee off today has to be the top player on tour the last month on thursday through saturday afternoon.

Played in 3 tournaments out of last 5.

Memorial - win
St. Jude - Missed due to us open sectionals and charity work
Us open - DNQ
Travelers - Held lead going into sunday and failed
AT T - Lead after 2 rounds...

.... Still trying to figure out how Lefty is the no. 1 player in all of the golf outlets power rankings.

Something needs to be done about world rankings along with weekly rankings. Phil wins one tournament albeit a big one and has a free pass. Tiger owns world last season, but yet to win this season. Doesnt serve justice to have him as no. 1

Right now id have this as my top 10 for favorites on a tournament

1) McDowell
2) Rose
3) Westwood
4) Day
5) Mickleson
6) Overton
7) Woods
8) Barnes
9) Fowler
10) Van Pelt

He is fighting to just to stay even on the round. He did just bomb a drive 330 on the par 5 16, but he will probably 3 putt for par.

A recap for everyone who had other things to do than watch golf this afternoon (not me; I ran a 10K this morning and spent the rest of the day on the couch):

Justin Rose took care of business this time to win his second tournament in a month, and will likely enter the top 20 in the world rankings tomorrow morning. Rose didn't relinquish the lead all day, but his final round of 70 ultimately gave him a one-stroke margin of victory over Ryan Moore, who one-putted the final eight greens to card a weekend-best round of 65. Both players earned entry into the Open Championship in two weeks with their performances; Bubba Watson also earned a place in the field at St. Andrews, despite not playing at Aronimink. Tiger shot a 71 and finished in a tie for 46th, his worst non-major finish on tour in five years.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Woods: SasQuatch 17° 4-Wood (stiff graphite shaft)

Even thought they never came out and said the word "stack and tilt" that I heard. Charlie Wi was getting mad props during TV coverage for his swing...

I heard it at least once, when they were fawning over his chipping control. Right before he chipped it out of control, all the way across the green, and had fun dropping and redropping away from sprinklers.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW
White Hot XG #1 Putter, 33"

That's usually how it goes....

McCord (who's worked with Mac O'Grady himself before he got thrown out of the circle) said it. That was it.

Charlie was pounding the ball all week.

Kostis did a slow motion analysis of his swing at one point on sunday, he didn't say "stack and tilt" once. He was applauding his weight shift.

Yeah I saw that segment, they were also praising his finish, he did look good out there. Hope he starts spending more time towards the top of the leaderboard...

    • Was this the course with 9 blind shots in the first 9 holes?
    • Woof. Not good. 8:40 to 8:50, blah. I know the grip is turned a bit to the left in that part of the video (face is closed a bit), but… no. Not that.
    • Eh. You're tricking yourself. You can still miss right or left, and what you've created is a situation where you HAVE to miss (but the right amount) to make the putt. That's not for me.
    • I can see a point in this.  If you play a straigth 3 footer with a square face aiming at the hole, you can miss both ways, with a close face or an open one. If you aim rigth an close the face at impact (like tiger used to do), physically you can still miss left or rigth but mentally you are only missing left (closed face) and having only 1 miss can give you a boost in confidence. I putt this way on fade putts and aim left and open the face on draw putts, never liked the uncerteinty of putting square to the target.  I apply something like this on approach shots, only use low or high shots and for middle shots I use a low shot with more loft ot a high shot with less loft. This shots are always what they meat low or high, a middle one can go a little towards the high and the low depending on the AoA of each shot making it mentally a little more uncertain what is going to be.
