Hey guys,
My brother is looking into getting the Adams Tom Watson wedge set. How are these? I hear they are pretty good, I know they aren't Vokeys, or CG 15's but I think they should be fine.

- VR Pro LTD - 9.5 Ahina X

- VR_S 3, 5 woods - Fubuki X

- VR Pro Combo - 3-Pw S300's
nike.gif - VR VRev Wedges - 52, 58

- Method 001 - 34in.

- 20XI-S

- 20XI Staff Bag

I've got a single Tom Watson wedge, probably a different incarnation but similar to what he's looking at. They're fine clubs, nothing terribly special. Most of them have a light feel, which I prefer. Hard to go wrong with any quality club at that price.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW
White Hot XG #1 Putter, 33"

I have the Adams TW set-they feel just as good as my Vokey, or MacGregor, or Clevelands and PING wedges I have used.

Unless you do magic tricks with your wedge shots, the Watsons would work fine. Test them and see how they feel.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I accidentally discovered two magic wedge shots yesterday. I hit one pitch shot right in the middle of the ball and got an extra 20 yards distance (very handy - I'd never seen the green from that angle before) and on another I hit a 45 degree push slice that may have been all hosel (great for getting out of trouble). Those two magical shots cost me my low round of the season - such is life. Back to the topic, I could probably get used to any wedge set, and I do like the idea of a set. Each wedge has a purpose. The trick is finding it.

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

Been using the Tom Watsons (52, 56, 60) all season and am very happy with them. Been thinking of picking up another set just to have in reserve ...

They are ok nothing special. I would definitely recommend vokeys but if your looking for something cheaper they are fine

    • Would You Rather #69 For this question let's assume you are playing whatever tournament is important to you.  Would you rather finish second in your tournament but be remembered for a huge mistake you make right at the end.  or  Would you rather play solidly in your tournament, but you still finish outside the top 25, and are never really in contention.  Incidentally, this happed to a friend of mine many years ago at the tournament I play every year. He was leading the tournament coming into the last hole, where he took two to get out of a greenside bunker and then three-putted his way to second place. He hasn't really been in contention again since.
    • I hate that I agree with this. But the guy is like a Ferrari with four flat tires trying to go 200 mph. Bad things can only come from that. He turns 50 on December 30th. I wonder how long Golf Cart Tiger lasts out there.
    • When you’ve resorted to this type of stuff, hang ‘em up.

    • Ex Cigarette smoker here. Quit 20 years ago and don't miss it. However I was looking at this from a Cigar perspective. Doesn't golf and cigars go together? I play with a lot of golfers who only smoke cigars on the course, and maybe one on the patio of the 19th hole. I mean after a rough day of golf what is better than a bourbon and a cigar?   I should also add the the second most smoking on NY courses is pot, but it is legal her. probably not during competition!
