Do you think a Par 3 Golf Couse can be as difficult as regular course?

I myself have a hard time on a Par 3 because I'm usually in between clubs. It's frustrating.

Easier.... there are fewer strokes taken, so less chances to screw up. Also less opportunity to design difficulty into the course itself. They can either make the holes excessively long, or they can build insane greens, either of which would just trick up the course, not really make it better. I've never yet seen a par 3 course which wasn't easier to play in the long run. That doesn't mean that they can't be fun though... I've played a couple of really nice ones. Then again, some are designed without imagination and are really only suited for kids and beginners.

This Par 3 I play has rough greens, and the fairway is like hitting off a parking lot.

This can be a problem. Par 3 courses are often built cheaply and poorly maintained too. Too often the anticipated clientele is not thought to be all that discerning, so they feel that they can get away with cheaping out. When they do that, they guarantee that they will never be an attraction for real golfers.

My home complex has a nice little par 3 course, with holes ranging from 80 to 200 yards, water hazards on 4 holes, and good bunkering. The greens are maintained exactly like the greens on our 18 hole Championship Course. You can play the par 3 course for $8.

My course has a par 3 (with 2 par 4s) in addition to 2 18 hole regulation courses. The bunkers are REALLY crappy instead of the plain crappy bunkers on the regulation courses, but everything else is maintained similar. It is nice because I can get 5-6 holes in during lunch or before a round for practice. It is the toughest couse in relation to par since it only has 4 holes that are 150 or less. 11 is a 256 yarder!

At par 3 course nearby only 1 hole measures less than 200 yards. Needless to say, it's very difficult. In general I score better on real courses because I can hit the ball long and solidly. My 2nds on par 4's and 3rds on par 5's are usually closer to the hole in a better position than from the teebox of par 3s.
I average 3.21 shots on par 3's. 4.14 on par 4's and 4.79 on par 5's. So yeah if a par 3 course has the same kind of par 3's you find on a normal course it's more difficult for me

Technically, you can think of every hole on a regulation course as a par 3 hole, it just takes an extra stoke (or 2 perhaps for a par 5) to get to the point where you want to tee from. The good news is that you are not confined to the small area defined by tee markers, but the bad news is you can't put the ball on a tee.
