Where to golf trip solo for 1 week?

Suppose you can pick any week of the year but must golf solo. Your budget is $500 for the entire green fees. Where would you go?

I had that exact option, and I chose Myrtle Beach. 8 great courses in a week for $450.

The RTJ trail is pretty cool but you'll spend a lot of time driving each day because the courses are spread all over the state. I'd go for someplace that has most of where you'll be playing in the same general vicinity.

Several "golf meccas" for this type of trip. Myrtle Beach is an obvious one as is the RTJ Golf Trail (though, as pointed out driving is required). Another that I've enjoyed is the Pinehurst, Southern Pines area of NC. Several very nice courses in the area, driving is not too bad and pricing can be quite good.

I've done 4 days on the RTJ Golf Trail, the courses were incredible, but there was a lot of driving. While I have never been to Myrtle Beach, a friend of mine lived there for several years, he said the amount of quality course could not be beat. I think that would be my choice.

The Trail, the beach...............they are both nice. But, I cannot believe the variety great, I mean really great, courses you will find in and around Phoenix. From Troon North to Talking Stick to the Dinasaur to Poston Butte (also Troon) and within an hour or so of each other. The heat this time of year is warm, but very bearable.

It's somwhat close to where I live and cost effective. I'd go end of March. That way I could golf, fly fish, and snowboard depending on the day/snow conditions.

big 10 college town golf course road trip, that would be awesome and the university courses are cheap. Penn State and UW-Madison have awesome campus courses.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been living out west for 11 years now and still haven't made it to Santa Fe - despite always wanting to. This gives me an excellent reason, and I should be able to talk my wife into going along as well. She can ride along in the cart or hit the art stores in town - ouch!

Maybe I'll do the Phoenix area on another trip. Is there a website for a Phoenix trail that's as good as the one uttexas posted for Santa Fe ? Excellent thread guys. Time to take my clubs on the open road, the open highway - I've got lots of catching up to do ......

Fly into Calgary and drive into the BC interior. Hit up Kannanaskis, Golden, Salmon Arm, Predator Ridge and Greywolf

I'm certainly no expert on golf in the Calgary area, but you remind me of the most spectacular - and difficult - course that I've ever played that's not far from there. That would be Silvertip, at Canmore in the Canadian Rockies, near Banff. Not cheap but worth every penny (business trip, fortunately).
