Help me pick a wedge

I have a set of Callaway BB irons. My set includes a sand wedge 55 degrees. I am getting better and would like to swap out my sand wedge for a new Vokey. I have a Vokey 60 degree that I carry in my bag.

I hit my Callaway pitching wedge 125

I hit my Callaway gap wedge 100

I currently hit my SW 85

I hit my 60 from about 60.

Vokeys only come in 54 or 56. What would you recommend I get?

Well you might want to consider whether you play is better with more ore less bounce. Reason is a 54* can be bent to 56* degree or a 56* bent to 54*. Very easy to do with Vokeys. Actually the loft on Vokeys need to be checked periodically as they "self adjust". Hazards of softer metal forging process and a longer hosel I believe.

Anyway adding or subtracting loft will alter the bounce of the club by the same figure. Less loft= less bounce. I think I'm visualizing this correctly. Any other poster confirm this????

Kinda of a round about answer but you should be able to hedge your bet on the wedge choice.

What is the loft on your PW and GW? Try to split the difference. I hit my 50-08 deg vokey 100, 54-11 85, 56-11 80 and 58-08 70. I either play the 50, 54 58 or 50 56 depending on the course. the 11 degree bounce is very versitile and works great from the fairway.

My pitching wedge is 45 degrees and my gap wedge is 50 degree so I am looking for something between my gap and 60....55 is not an option, so do I go 54 or 56?

Well you might want to consider

Vokey's spin milled family offers six different sole grinds, three different finishes, and many loft-bounce combinations in the heads. Consider getting

the club you want, rather than getting into bending (as dan says, the bend tends to creep back to original loft). You could go with 54* or 56*, as long as you got the right bounce for what you need - are you a digger or a sweeper? If this club will be primarily your bunker club, you might want to go with extra bounce. Also, if you think you'll eventually go with just 3 wedges - especially if all are Vokey - you might go with 54*. If you think you'll stick with 4 wedges, a 56* might be better. Also, Vokey wedges are cast using a mild carbon steel, supposedly giving them a softer feel. But, not forged . http://www.vokey.com/tech_central/page.aspx?id=7#g_1

I totally agree wioth above. Just saying after making the $80-$100 choice its still possible to use that club if the loft is wrong for him. Did not realize Vokey were cast but the soft steel is apparent when bending them. I have found originally 56* vokeys to be +/- up to 3* off after a year's use. I try to maintain a 4* gap between my wedges 48-52-56-60. Distance gaps are not so important to me as trajectory control. I rarely hit a full wedge.
